摘要： One embodiment of the barrel exercise apparatus in accordance with the present disclosure is a curved, partial barrel shaped body that has a bottom surface shaped to rest on a portion of a planar surface such as a pad or a floor and an upper curved surface formed by a first cylindrical surface portion having a first radius of curvature about a first axis and a second cylindrical surface portion having a second radius of curvature about a second axis spaced from and parallel to the first axis. The second radius is different from the first radius of curvature. The first and second surface portions preferably tangentially merge together to form a continuous smooth, curved, upper surface with different curvatures. Another embodiment is an assembly that, in combination with the partial barrel shaped body, includes a planar base such as a non-slip mat, a removable first block shaped step block having a bottom surface shaped to rest on the base, a generally flat top surface lying at an acute angle to a plane of the bottom surface of the block shaped body when the first body is positioned on the base, and an upright front edge between the bottom surface and the top surface. The bottom surface of the partial barrel shaped body receives a locating member in a complementary shaped recess such that the barrel shaped body may be positioned in two opposite orientations on the locating member. Thus the barrel shaped body may be positioned with either the first portion or the second portion abutting the step on the base.

A pair of roller wheels at the head end and a pair at the foot end of the carriage support the platform. A single common axle supports the head end pair of rollers from the carriage, forms a pivot support for the folding shoulder stops, and forms part of an adjustable position support assembly for the headrest. The shoulder stops are preferably attached to a tubular sleeve that rotates on the common axle.

摘要： An exercise apparatus comprising a generally rectangular extruded aluminum alloy frame having a head end and a foot end and including a pair of spaced apart parallel track members wherein the head end, the foot end, and the track or rail members are each formed from the metal extrusion material. The apparatus includes a movable carriage made of a rigid frame that moves along the rail members between the head and foot ends against one or more resistance members connected to the carriage and the foot end of the frame. Each of the rail members includes a longitudinal slot therein for receiving a foot support bar assembly. The rail members and head and foot end members are generally each metal tubular box extrusions and the rail members telescopically retract. Roller wheels attached to the carriage move along the top of the rail members and guide wheels move along the inside of the rail members. The invention further includes shoulder stops on the carriage that can be adjusted to a horizontal position so that the apparatus may be compactly stored.

摘要： The exercise apparatus in accordance with the present invention includes a wheeled carriage having a generally flat top surface movably mounted on a generally rectangular frame. The carriage includes a removable shoulder stop and head rest assembly mounted on the carriage at one end thereof for preventing sliding of the user's body from the carriage. This shoulder stop and head rest assembly is removed to convert the apparatus into a flat table for stationary exercises. A first generally flat, padded, table top member is positionable between the carriage and one end of the frame in the plane of the top surface of the carriage. A second generally flat, padded table member is positionable between the carriage and the other end of the frame in the plane of the top of the carriage when the removable shoulder and head rest assembly is removed to prevent the carriage from moving and form a generally flat stationary table surface.

摘要： A reformer exercise apparatus has a head end and a foot end and a pair of spaced apart parallel track members, a movable carriage mounted on the track members for movement between the head and foot end. One or more springs are connected between the carriage and an elastic member anchor bar and carriage stop assembly at the foot end. The anchor bar and carriage stop assembly adjustably positions the carriage, the anchor bar and the elastic members on the tracks to accommodate a wide range of user heights. Each end of the anchor bar is disposed in an elongated slot formed in each track member. The elongated slot has spaced gear teeth shaped openings defining spaced anchor bar stop or lock portions. The anchor bar can be moved between lock portions only when rotated to an unlocked position wherein the bar, coupled to the carriage, can slide along the track within the slot. In addition, the assembly maintains the carriage and anchor bar a predetermined distance apart when the anchor bar is in the unlocked position and maintains a minimum distance between the anchor bar and the carriage when the anchor bar is in the locked position.

摘要： An anchor device for elastically resistive exercise apparatus is disclosed. The cactus-tree anchor device has a rigid elongated vertical backbone. Protruding from the elongated backbone is a plurality of curved, upward-pointing arms resembling the trunk and arms of a Saguaro cactus. Pairs of these curved arms protrude from opposite sides of the elongated backbone. These arms facilitate the easy connection of elastic members, such as coil springs, to the anchor device while helping to prevent elastic members from becoming inadvertently dislodged during expansion and contraction of the elastic member. Mounting members located at upper and lower ends of the vertical backbone allow the anchor device to be mounted on or within the exercise apparatus. The anchor device is particularly adapted for use in a Pilates combination chair exercise apparatus.
