摘要： Electrowetting display devices and fabrication methods thereof are presented. The electrowetting display device includes a first substrate and a second substrate with a polar fluid layer and a non-polar fluid layer insolvable to each other and interposed between the first and second substrates. A first transparent electrode is disposed on the first substrate. A second electrode is disposed on the second substrate. A dielectric layer is disposed on the second electrode. A hydrophilic partition wall structure is directly disposed on the dielectric layer defining a plurality of pixel regions. A layer of low surface energy material is disposed on the dielectric layer within each of the pixel region.

摘要： An electro-wetting display device is provided. The device includes a first substrate and a second substrate disposed opposite thereto. A plurality of first electrodes and a plurality of corresponding second electrodes are disposed on the first substrate and face the second substrate. A barrier layer is between the plurality of first electrodes and the plurality of second electrodes, such that the plurality of first electrodes is electrically insulated from the plurality of second electrodes. A plurality of ribs is on the first substrate to form a plurality of pixel regions. A polar liquid and a non-polar liquid are between the first and second substrates. The barrier layer is between the polar liquid and at least one of the plurality of first electrodes and the plurality of second electrodes, and the non-polar liquid is in direct contact with the barrier layer in each pixel region.

摘要： Color cholesteric liquid crystal display devices and fabrication methods thereof are provided. The color cholesteric liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate and a gap interposed therebetween. A patterned enclosed structure is interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate dividing a plurality of color sub-pixel channels. A plurality of color cholesteric liquid crystals are respectively filled in each of the color sub-pixel channel, wherein an adhesion layer is tightly adhered between the second substrate and the patterned enclosed structure so as to prevent mixing of the color cholesteric liquid crystals between adjacent color sub-pixel channels.

摘要： Horizontal-switching flexible liquid crystal displays (LCD) and fabrication methods thereof are provided. The horizontal-switching flexible liquid crystal display includes a flexible first substrate, a second substrate and a liquid crystal (LC) layer interposed therebetween. The LC layer consists of liquid crystal molecules affected by a horizontal field and divided into an upper portion and a lower portion. At least one pair of a patterned pixel electrode and a common electrode is disposed on the first substrate. The pixel electrode and the common electrode are formed on the same plane, thereby generating a horizontal field during operation. First and second alignment layers allow the LC molecules of the LC layer to be in a substantially vertical alignment. The phase retardation of the horizontal-switching LCD is due to the lower portion of the LC layer.
