摘要： An apparatus and method are provided for transmitting and receiving a pilot signal using multiple antennas in an OFDM mobile communication system. In the pilot transmitting apparatus, at least one Walsh coverer Walsh-covers a pilot signal to be sent through each of transmit antennas. At least one transmitter allocates the Walsh-covered pilot signals to a predetermined subcarrier in every OFDM symbol and transmits the allocated pilot signals through the transmit antennas.

摘要： An apparatus and method are provided for arranging tones to isolate signals between base stations (BSs) in a high rate packet data (HRPD) system. Packet data is received from a higher layer and the received packet data is channel-coded and modulated. Guard tones are inserted into symbols of the modulated packet data. Pilot tones are inserted using pilot tone arrangements based on preset pilot tone offsets. The packet data symbols to which the pilot tone arrangements have been applied are spread such that BSs for transmitting different broadcast contents are distinguished from each other. A cyclic prefix (CP) is inserted after performing an inverse Fourier transform on the spread packet data symbols, and the symbols are transmitted.

摘要： A method for determining a data rate of next reverse packet data according to ACK/NACK information and rate control information received from a plurality of base stations in a mobile communication system in which a mobile station, located in a soft-handoff region managed by the base stations, transmits reverse packet data to the base stations, and each of the base stations transmits ACK/NACK information and rate control information, indicating a rate-up, rate-down, or rate-hold command, to the mobile station in response to the reverse packet data. The mobile station receives ACK information from at least one of the base stations, receives either ACK information or NACK information from base stations other than the at least one base station, and receives rate control information from all of the base stations. The mobile station determines a data rate of reverse packet data based on rate control information received from a set of base stations that excludes base stations that transmitted rate control information indicating a rate-hold command together with NACK information.
