    • A method for selecting an access point by considering state information including the number of mobile stations connected in each access point and a traffic amount at each access point is disclosed. The method includes the steps of a) at access points, inserting a first state information of the access point about the number of connected mobile stations into a Beacon frame/Probe Response message frame; b) at the access points, the Beacon frame/Probe Response message frame of the first state information is transmitted to the mobile station; c) at the access points, inserting a second state information about a traffic amount into the Beacon frame/Probe Response message frame; d) at each the access points, the Beacon frame/Probe Response message frame of the second state information is transmitted to the mobile station; and e) at the mobile station, selecting one of access points based on the first and second state information.

    • An apparatus and method for assessing image quality in real-time in consideration of both a coding error generated in an image processing process and a packet error generated in an image transmission process are provided. The apparatus for assessing image quality in real-time includes: an image quality measurement unit measuring image degradation generated in processing an image; a packet degradation detection unit detecting a packet error generated in transmitting the image; and final outcome drawing unit finally assessing the quality of the image in consideration of both a degradation degree of the image measured by the image quality measurement unit and the packet error measured by the packet degradation detection unit.

    • The present invention relates to a mobile multicast system and a method thereof, and more particularly to a network-based mobility multicast system and a method thereof. The system according to one embodiment of the present invention is the mobile multicast system for supporting the network-based mobility comprising: access points which communicate with mobile terminals within an access network through a wireless channel, obtains layer 2 addresses of the terminals, and provides the obtained layer 2 addresses of the terminals; management parts which control a handover of each terminal included in the access points, transmit multicast packets to be provided to the terminals, and are provided according to the access points; a router which receives the multicast data through the network, and transmits the multicast packets to the terminals for receiving the multicast data; and a mobile control server which obtains position information of the terminals from the management parts, transmits a query message for determining the reception of the multicast data to each of the management parts so as to confirm whether the terminals join the multicast when receiving the query message from the router, and controls setting of a tunnel between the router and the management part for transmitting a membership report message when receiving the membership report message for joining the multicast.
