    • A wireless network device includes modulation modules, each configured to receive a data stream and modulate the data stream to generate a modulated data stream. A matrix module generates a multiplexing matrix based on channel conditions between the wireless network device and each of a plurality of client stations, and applies the multiplexing matrix to each of the modulated data streams to generate multiplexed data streams. The wireless network device also includes summing modules, each configured to sum at least two of the multiplexed data streams to generate a transmit data stream. A first transmitter transmits a first one of the transmit data streams during a downlink transmission period to a first one of the client stations. A second transmitter transmits a second one of the transmit data streams to a second one of the client stations while the first transmitter transmits the first one of the transmit data streams.

    • A wireless network including client stations and an access point. A first set of client stations transmit uplink user data during a simultaneous uplink transmission period without sensing channel prior to transmitting the uplink user data. A second set of client stations transmit the uplink user data by sensing channel prior to transmitting the uplink user data. The access point (i) services the client stations, (ii) instructs the second set of client stations to not transmit the uplink user data during the simultaneous uplink transmission period, and (iii) receives the uplink user data transmitted from two or more of the first set of client stations during the simultaneous uplink transmission period. The access point sequentially transmits respective acknowledgements to the two or more of the first set of client stations in a non-overlapping manner during the simultaneous uplink transmission period.

    • A method for processing a preamble of a data packet, received via a communication channel, using a pair of complementary sequences, wherein a sum of out-of-phase aperiodic autocorrelation coefficients of the pair of complementary sequences is zero, and wherein the preamble includes a first field that provides synchronization information and a second field that provides channel estimation information, includes at least one of (i) correlating a received signal corresponding to the preamble with at least one sequence of the pair of complementary sequences to generate a plurality of respective correlation signals, or (ii) autocorrelating the received signal to generate an autocorrelation signal.     • Methods and apparatus for processing frames in wireless networks. In one implementation, the apparatus comprises one or more modules configured to, prior to a transmission of a first frame: predict (i) a source address and (ii) a destination address of a second frame that is to be transmitted subsequent to the transmission of the first frame; and generate a predictor field, in which the predictor field includes information associated with the predicted source address and the predicted destination address of the second frame. The one or more modules are further configured to, prior to the transmission of the first frame, (i) append the predictor field in the first frame, and (ii) transmit the first frame.
