摘要： In a disk drive using a motor frame, the motor frame is provided with a projection preliminarily formed to protrude on its principal surface. The projection has a slit formed at its base. A printed circuit board is inserted into the slit to be engaged with the projection. The motor frame is provided with a positioning boss fitted into a positioning hole formed in the printed circuit board. The motor frame is further provided with a plurality of board holding portions bent upward on the principal surface to be engaged with end portions of the printed circuit board. Preferably, the positioning boss is formed by coining.

摘要： In a flexible disk drive for a flexible disk, a main frame defines a receiving portion for receiving the flexible disk. The main frame has a principal surface which faces the receiving portion and extends in a first direction and a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. A carriage assembly is mounted on the main frame and has a magnetic head for accessing the flexible disk. The carriage assembly is movable to carry the magnetic head along the principal surface. An eject base is coupled to the main frame and has a main portion facing the principal surface and side plates opposite to each other in the first direction. Between the main frame and the eject base, an eject plate is placed movable in the second direction for ejecting the flexible disk from the receiving portion. The eject plate has side plates facing the side plates of the eject base in the first direction, respectively. A guiding mechanism is coupled to the side plates of the eject base and to the side plates of the eject plate and guides movement of the eject plate in the second direction.

摘要： In a method of mounting a drive motor to a frame member included in a disk drive which is for driving a flexible disk, the frame member is formed to have a main frame portion and a motor frame portion integrally formed to the main frame portion. The main frame portion defines a position of the flexible disk in the disk drive. Use is made of a jig adapted to engage with the main frame portion and a bearing portion provided to a stator of the drive motor. On positioning the stator relative to the motor frame portion, the jig is engaged with the main frame portion and the bearing portion. Under this state, the stator is fixed to the motor frame portion. After that, the bearing portion rotatably supports a rotation shaft coupled to a rotor of the drive motor.

摘要： A shutter driving mechanism has a disk shutter arm engaged with a corner portion of a shutter while a flexible disk is inserted in a thin flexible disk drive. The shutter driving mechanism drives the shutter so as to open the shutter by rotating the disk shutter arm. The shutter driving mechanism is rotatably mounted on a disk holder for holding the flexible disk. Integrally formed to the arm near a tip of the disk shutter arm, a stopper made of resin supports the flexible disk at a rear surface thereof so as to avoid crashing the flexible disk with a lower magnetic head on inserting/ejecting the flexible disk in/from the thin flexible disk drive. The stopper has a projection part projecting at a tip thereof upwards so that the projection part supports the flexible disk in line contact.
