    • Some example embodiments may be directed towards a method in a network node, which may be comprised in a Radio Network, for transmitting a combined wireless communication signal. The combined wireless communication signal may comprise a primary and a secondary signal component. The method may comprise transmitting to an user equipment the secondary signal component according to a secondary transmission scheme such that the secondary signal component at least partially overlaps with the primary signal component with respect to a signal domain. The method may also comprise simultaneously, suppressing at least one portion of the secondary signal component during a transmission of the primary signal component.Some example embodiments may be directed towards a method in an user equipment, which may be comprised in a Radio Network, for estimating the combined communication channel. The method may comprise receiving the combined wireless communication signal. The primary and secondary signal components may be received according to a primary and secondary transmission scheme, associated with a primary and secondary domain, respectively. The method may further comprise estimating the primary channel component when the secondary signal component is suppressed.

    • A technique is provided for use by a Multi-Radio Management Resource (MRRM) component of a multi-radio wireless communication system for controlling the handover of a mobile terminal between different radio access technologies (RAT). In one example, all suitable RATs having coverage areas currently covering the location of a mobile terminal are identified. The performance gain that might be achieved via a handover to one of the other RATs is then determined by the MRRM based on various performance gain factors. Handover costs that will be incurred as a result of the handover are also explicitly calculated. Then, a cost-adjusted gain is determined by the MRRM based on the performance gain and the handover costs. A handover is only triggered by the MRRM if the cost-adjusted gain exceeds a minimum threshold. The speed and trajectory of the mobile terminal may also be considered.

    • The invention provides a method, to be used by a network node, for assisting a handover of a data session from a first routing path, associated with a first access network, to an alternative routing path, associated with an alternative access network, wherein data is routed over said first access network to a UT by binding a session identifier to a first routing identifier, wherein said session identifier and said first routing identifier are defined in accordance with a standard protocol routing scheme of said first access network, the method comprising the following steps: receiving a capability message uniquely identifying said UT according to a standard protocol routing scheme of said first access network and according to an alternative standard protocol routing scheme of said alternative access network, creating an alternative routing identifier for said session complying with the standard protocol routing scheme of said alternative access network and associating said alternative routing identifier with said UT, and, associating said session identifier with said alternative routing identifier.     • User-networks having more than one type of access system are connected to networks having multi-access technology. Interference is measured between the connected, active access systems and the active systems are prioritized. A priority value is assigned to each of the active access systems based on the interference between systems. According to the assigned priority value, the access system with the highest value is enabled. Remaining systems are then compared with the enabled access system and an interference threshold. If the level of interference exceeds the threshold, the offending access system is disabled.
