摘要： A display device includes power management by including a first input suitable to receive electrical power from an outlet for providing power for the operation of the display device. The display device includes a second input, separate from the first input, suitable to receive electrical power from an external battery source for providing power for the operation of the display device. The display device includes an internal battery source enclosed within the display device suitable for providing power for the operation of the display device. A source select is enclosed within the display device that selects power from at least one of the first input, the second input, and the internal battery for providing power for the operation of the display device. A processor receives video content from a video source and selectively modifies a backlight of the display device based upon the power source selected by the source select in such a manner as to reduce the power consumption of the display device. The processor may additionally change the media playback behavior to decode and playback only some of the video frames to reduce the power consumption of decoder and display device.

摘要： A method of vertex-based hierarchical shape representation and coding includes selecting an image of interest, defining a boundary about an object of interest within the image of interest, wherein the boundary is defined by a set of contour points, selecting a number of layers, each layer having a predefined saliency parameter associated therewith, wherein the saliency parameter defines a range of layers from a most salient layer to a least salient layer, identifying the most salient contour points in the boundary and placing the most salient contour points in the most salient layer, identifying the next most salient contour points in the boundary and placing the next most salient contour points in the next most salient layer until all of the selected layers have contour points placed therein, and hierarchically storing the layers in a database. A vertex-based hierarchical shape representation and coding system includes an image input which contains and image of interest, an analyzer to select an object of interest within the image, a manipulation mechanism to define a boundary about the object of interest and define a set of contour points on that boundary, and a selections mechanism to place selected contour points into hierarchical layers of like salient contour points.

摘要： A hybrid deinterlace mechanism employs motion detection as a precursor to select the value for each missing pixel of a deinterlaced frame. If the missing pixel is found to belong to a steady or non-motion portion of the image, then its value is replaced by the corresponding value in the adjacent field (i.e., merging is performed). Otherwise, (where image motion is present) spatial interpolation, preferably edge-adaptive interpolation, is employed to determine the value of the missing pixel.
