摘要： The present invention relates to subterranean treatment fluids, and more particularly, the present invention relates to subterranean treatment fluids comprising relative permeability modifiers and methods for using such subterranean treatment fluids in subterranean operations to reduce the production of water from and stimulate hydrocarbon production in a subterranean formation. In certain embodiments, the methods of the present invention generally comprise the steps of providing a permeability-modifying aqueous treatment fluid comprising a relative permeability modifier and contacting a subterranean formation with the permeability-modifying aqueous treatment fluid. Optionally, the permeability-modifying aqueous treatment fluid may be injected in the subterranean formation at a pressure sufficient to create or enhance at least one fracture therein. In another embodiment, the relative permeability modifier may be provided by appropriate reaction in situ.

摘要： Provided embodiments relate to introducing a water-drainage-rate-enhancing agent into a subterranean formation to enhance gas production following a relative-permeability-modifier treatment to decrease undesired water production. An exemplary embodiment provides a method of treating a subterranean formation such that initiation of gas production is enhanced following the treatment, the method comprising: introducing a relative-permeability modifier into at least a portion of the subterranean formation such that the relative-permeability modifier reduces permeability of the portion to aqueous fluids; and introducing a water-drainage-rate-enhancing agent into at least a portion of the subterranean formation. Another exemplary embodiment provides a treatment fluid comprising a carrier fluid, a relative-permeability modifier, and a water-drainage-rate-enhancing agent.

摘要： Improved methods of treating water and hydrocarbons producing subterranean formations to reduce the water permeabilities of the formations without substantially reducing the hydrocarbons permeabilities thereof are provided. The methods basically comprise introducing into the formation a chemical which does not resist water flow and attaches to adsorption sites on surfaces within the porosity of the formation but slowly washes off the sites as another fluid flows through the treated formation. Thereafter, a water flow resisting polymer is introduced into the formation so that it flows deeply into the porosity of the formation before the previously introduced chemical washes off and attaches to the adsorption sites as the chemical washes off.

An embodiment of the present invention provides a method of diverting fluids in a subterranean formation that may comprise providing a treatment fluid comprising an aqueous fluid and a relative permeability modifier that comprises water-soluble polymer with hydrophobic or hydrophilic modification; introducing the treatment fluid into a well bore that penetrates the subterranean formation; and at least a first portion of the treatment fluid to penetrate into a portion of the subterranean formation so as to substantially divert a second portion of the treatment fluid or another aqueous treatment fluid to another portion of the subterranean.

摘要： Method of diverting fluids in a subterranean formation including the steps of providing a first fluid comprising an aqueous fluid and a hydrophobically modified water-soluble relative permeability modifier; introducing the first fluid into a well bore such that the first treatment fluid penetrates into a portion of the subterranean formation in a sufficient amount so as to substantially divert a second treatment fluid to another portion of the subterranean formation. Then, a second aqueous fluid is introduced into the well bore and substantially diverted from the portion of the subterranean formation penetrated with the first treatment fluid. In some cases, a well treatment operation, such as acid stimulation operation, a clay stabilization operation, or a scale inhibition operation, is performed using the second fluid.

摘要： Methods of reducing the permeability of a subterranean formation to aqueous-based fluids using a water-soluble relative permeability modifier that comprises a hydrophobically modified polymer, wherein the hydrophobically modified polymer is a reaction product of: a hydrophilic polymer that comprises a polymer selected from the group consisting of a polyvinylamine, a poly(vinylamine/vinyl alcohol), and an alkyl acrylate polymer; and, a hydrophobic compound comprising at least one alkyl chain having a carbon chain length between about 4 and about 22 carbons. The water-soluble relative permeability modifier may be placed within a subterranean drilling operation such that the water-soluble relative permeability modifier attaches onto surfaces within the subterranean formation to effect permeability of aqueous fluids.
