    • An ink jet recording apparatus configured to perform recording by discharging ink from a plurality of discharge ports disposed on a recording head. The apparatus includes a cap adapted to cover the plurality of discharge ports disposed on the recording head, a recessed portion defined on a bottom face inside the cap, a suction hole facilitating introducing a negative pressure to the recessed portion, an atmosphere communication hole located outside a range of the recessed portion and communicating with atmosphere, an ink absorber mounted inside the cap to cover the recessed portion, and a suction pump connected to the suction hole and configured to generate a negative pressure. When the plurality of discharge ports is covered with the cap, a projection image obtained when the plurality of discharge ports is projected onto the bottom face exists within the range of the recessed portion.

    • A liquid jet recording head includes a recording portion having a recording element substrate provided with a recording element for discharging liquid and a face surface provided with a discharge port for discharging liquid, a recording liquid storing portion for storing the recording liquid supplied to the recording portion, and a coupling member for coupling the recording portion and the recording liquid storing portion. A projecting member is provided on the recording liquid storing portion. The coupling member couples the recording portion and the recording liquid storing portion so that a leading end of the projecting member projects toward an end of the face surface from a side of the recording portion when the recording portion is coupled with the recording liquid storing portion.

    • A primary flow path forming member is provided with a groove which becomes a recording liquid supply path on a bottom surface thereof. A second flow path forming member is provided with an arm portion. The arm portion of the second flow path forming member is used as a cap for closing the opening of the groove which becomes the liquid supply path formed on the bottom surface of the prime flow path forming member. The primary flow path forming member and the second flow path forming member as described above are formed by injection-molding and bonded with each other by a bonding member. The bonding member is formed to cover a portion where the opening edge of the groove which becomes the recording liquid supply path, in the primary flow path forming member abuts on the arm portion of the second flow path forming member.
