The pilot inserting parts (110-1 to 110-4) each insert pilot symbols in accordance with the designation of the pilot pattern designating part (108) into predetermined positions of a respective stream. A scrambling pattern designating part (112) designates a scrambling pattern, i.e., a pattern of reversing the signs of the subcarriers of the pilot symbols in each stream and sends the designation to scrambling parts (114-1 to 114-4). The scrambling parts (114-1 to 114-4) reverse the signs of a half number of subcarriers corresponding to the end or front symbols of the streams in accordance with the designation of the scrambling pattern designating part (112).
