The power combustion device provides premixing of fuel and oxidizing gas to form a combustible mixture thereby allowing sealed combustion with respect to the surrounding atmosphere.

    • In a log-periodic monopole antenna array of the type described in U.S. Pat. No. 3,286,268, each antenna of the array having active elements spaced over the top surface of a ground structure and grounded parasitic elements interspersed between the active elements, the improvement of means for mechanically and electrically connecting the parasitic elements to a non-solderable ground structure comprising an elongated block compressed into a correspondingly shaped groove in the structure. Screw means threadedly engage the ground structure in a direction transversely of the top surface thereof and abut against the block. The lower strip portion of the parasitic elements is disposed in the groove between the block and a groove side wall and is compressed therebetween when the screw means is tightened into the structure and against the block. In one embodiment, one side of the block and the adjacent side of the groove are tapered toward the opposite side of the groove so as to force the block against the strip when the screw means is tightened. In another embodiment the block abutting surface of the head of the screw means is tapered and forces the block against the strip when the screw means is tightened. A tight mechanical and electrical connection of the parasitic element strip portions in the array of antennas is thus achieved in a minimum of space.

The pulsing combustion device may be used as an air heater by providing an exhaust manifold passing the combustion gases through a closed heat exchanger over which treatment air is passed through an air treatment duct. The pulsing combustion device may be provided with a pressurized combustion air flow regulator providing higher pressure combustion air to a lower pressure combustible mixing chamber to which fuel gas is added.

    • This relates to a sealed carton formed of paperboard which is provided with tamper indicating features. First of all, the ends of the carton are formed of a combination of partial and full closure flaps and the full closure flaps are provided with weakened areas so that if the closure flaps are attempted to be separated, there will be a rupture of either one or both of the full closure flaps so as to indicate attempted tampering. On the other hand, if an attempt is made to open the carton along the joint between the body panel and the connecting panel, the connecting panel carries at opposite ends thereof closure flaps which are incorporated in the ends of the carton and there is a weakening line arrangement such that rupture of the closure flaps carried by the connecting panel from the connecting panel will occur to indicate an attempt to tamper.

    • Hollow molded plastic support member for use in forming a variety of traffic warning devices has an inverted Y-shape which forms a pair of spaced angled legs and a vertical post portion. The post portion includes a pair of vertically elongated, spaced apertures defined by integral plastic connecting walls which space the opposed planar side portions of the support member from each other. An opening in the post portion permits ballast to be loaded into the hollow interior of the legs. A single support member can be used in combination with a vertical member having portions which snap fit with the apertures to form a three-legged sign or light support. Pairs of support members can be used with a variety of disclosed cross bar arrangements to form barricades and warning signs. The snapfit design of several of the disclosed warning devices permits the devices to come apart when hit by a vehicle without causing damage to either the vehicle or the warning device.
