摘要： Embodiments of a system and method for providing a user interface for managing calls received at a mobile device is described. The user interface provides an incoming call screen to the user, where the incoming call screen comprises a caller identification data field for displaying data associated with incoming calls and at least one key label field in which labels for mobile device keys (e.g. send and end keys) are displayed. The area of the caller identification data field is substantially greater than the area of the at least one key label field, enabling more information pertaining to incoming calls to be displayed to the user. In at least one embodiment, this is facilitated by providing user-selectable options for responding to incoming calls in an options menu, which can be accessed by a user but is not initially displayed to the user when an incoming call is first received.

摘要： To provide a consistent (i.e., single-mode) user interface in each mode of operation available on a multi-mode mobile terminal, aspects of the user interface used for a second mode (e.g., the CDMA mode) are emulated by the mobile terminal when the mobile terminal is operating in a first mode (e.g., the GSM mode). Responsive to receiving, while operating in a first mode, an indication of a given user interface interaction, the multi-mode mobile terminal determines the call state. Based on the given user interface interaction and the call state, the multi-mode mobile terminal selects a candidate message corresponding to operation of the multi-mode mobile terminal in a second mode. The multi-mode mobile terminal then converts the candidate message to one or more first-mode messages and transmits the one or more first-mode messages to the MSC at the second wireless network subsystem.

The wireless transceiver is operative to receive a message which includes a telephone number string. When the message is visually displayed in the visual display, a hyperlink for the telephone number string in the message is created. The hyperlink for the telephone number string is highlighted when selected by an end user during the visual displaying of the message. In response to the a single depression of a SEND key while the hyperlink is selected, a telephone call to the telephone number string is initiated through the wireless communication network. Detection of the key is made immediately following the selection of the hyperlink without any intervening key depressions.
