    • A radial piston engine is disclosed wherein power is transferred such that the power take-off is truly balanced, where the piston runs truly parallel to the cylinder walls. This concept reduces wear of the cylinders and piston rings. The engine provides improved gas mileage due to the reduced piston drag. One unique feature is the power take-off from the piston to the flywheels. The design takes power from inside the cylinder compartment, through four transfer arms, to cams that in turn transfer the power to two flywheels. By firing complimentary cylinders 180 degrees at the same time, almost no vibration is noticed. Also, since the cylinders can fire many times per flywheel rotation, the torque which this engine produces is greater other designs. Any number of cylinders is possible. Single cylinders and two cylinder designs with chain power take-offs are also possible for lawnmowers and motorcycles.

    • A vehicle electrical system for supplying a first load with a first direct current voltage and for supplying a second load with a second direct current voltage lower than the first direct current voltage is disclosed. The vehicle electrical system includes: a multiphase alternating current generator having star-connected armature windings with respective phase winding terminations and a common center connection point wherein the generator generates a first higher alternating current voltage output at the respective phase winding terminations and a second lower alternating current voltage output at the common center connection point; a first rectifier unit electrically connected between the respective phase winding terminations and a first energy storage device and a first load for full-wave rectifying the first alternating current voltage output to be supplied to the first energy storage device and the first load; a second rectifier unit electrically connected in a circuit path between the common center connection point and a second energy storage device and a second load for rectifying the second alternating current voltage output to be supplied to the second energy storage device and the second load; and a controller electrically connected to the second rectifier unit, the second energy storage device and the common center connection point, the controller being operable to sense a voltage output level of the second alternating current voltage output and to selectively enable and disable the second rectifier unit to allow or block current flow through the circuit path between the common center connection point and the second energy storage device and the second load in response to the sensed voltage output level.

    • A computerized interactor system uses physical, three-dimensional objects as metaphors for input of user intent to a computer system. When one or more interactors are engaged with a detection field, the detection field reads an identifier associated with the object and communicates the identifier to a computer system. The computer system determines the meaning of the interactor based upon its identifier and upon a semantic context in which the computer system is operating. One specific embodiment of the present invention is a bead interactor system that is a user playable sound and light show system. When an interactor bead is positioned within the detection space of the bead interactor system, a sound sequence begins and continues to play unaltered until the bead interactor is removed or other bead interactors are positioned within or removed from the detection space. Each bead represents a different sound and the row and column location of the bead within the detection space controls how the sound is modified, e.g., louder or softer, higher pitched or lower pitched, the period of play, etc. In some embodiments, the beads are translucent in order to conduct light from light sources located under each bead receptacle. The available sounds are determined not only by the identity of the beads and their positioning within the detection space and their associated states or orientations, but also by sound data stored in an accompanying computer readable medium. Hence a user can access a variety of sound collections by simply installing a different computer readable medium.
