摘要： An ink container for holding a supply of liquid ink for use in an inkjet printing system. The container includes a collapsible ink reservoir for holding a supply of liquid ink, and a multiple functioned chassis. The chassis rigidly support an air inlet for receiving pressurized air from the printing system and an ink outlet for delivering pressurized ink to the system. The chassis support a collapsible ink container by providing an attach surface over which the collapsible container is attached. The attach surface allows a relatively simple pleated bag construction to be used by providing a surface whose normal is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the container. The chassis is adapted to engage with a pressure vessel opening, providing a seal that separates the pressure vessel from an outside atmosphere. The chassis provides a surface for outside electrical contacts along with locating means for a mating electrical connector, and provides pathways for them to be routed into the pressure vessel region. An efficient method of assembly of an ink container is described.

The expandable outer shell has an unexpanded position allowing removal of the ink container from the ink-jet printer and an expanded position wherein the outer shell engagement feature engages with the engagement feature associated with the ink-jet printer to resist removal of the ink container from the ink-jet printer.

摘要： Valves, ink delivery systems, and a method are provided for moving ink from an ink supply source to a printhead. The printhead ejects ink onto a print media to satisfy a print job. An inlet receives ink from the ink supply source within a central cavity of a valve. The ink flows through the central cavity to an outlet that is interfaced to the printhead. Moreover, the central cavity is segmented into first and second regions. In one embodiment, an Elastomer material segments the central cavity. The first region includes a seal adapted to close the inlet when the valve is in a closed position. The second region includes an actuation means for moving the seal to open and closed positions. Further, in one embodiment, the second region is humidified.

摘要： A printer consumable includes an ink bag, and a supply of ink included within the ink bag, and optionally a memory device and a pressure sensor. The pressure sensor communicates an ink bag pressure loss measurement through a communication means to an ink delivery system. The communication means uses the ink bag pressure loss measurement to determine a minimum pressure to print. In one embodiment, the communication means periodically polls the pressure sensor to acquire the ink bag pressure loss measurement and records the measurement on the memory device of the printer consumable. When the communication means receives a print job, the measurement is acquired from the memory device to determine the minimum pressure to print before the print job is processed.

摘要： An ink container for a supply of liquid ink includes a pressure vessel defining an interior chamber and a collapsible ink reservoir disposed within the interior chamber. The collapsible ink reservoir is adapted to hold the supply of liquid ink therein such that an ink passage communicates with the collapsible ink reservoir and externally of the pressure vessel, and an air passage communicates with the interior chamber of the pressure vessel and externally of the pressure vessel. A flow restrictor communicates with the air passage and, therefore, the interior chamber to restrict flow through the air passage from the interior chamber and permit flow through the air passage into the interior chamber.
