    • A method by a Mobile Terminal (MT) for positioning the MT is provided. The method includes requesting a Base Station (BS) to allocate a first transmission time for transmitting a first sounding signal for the MT, receiving the first transmission time from the BS, transmitting the first sounding signal to the BS at the first transmission time, requesting the BS to allocate a second transmission time of a second sounding signal for the MT after the MT moves, receiving the second transmission time from the BS, transmitting the second sounding signal to the BS at the second transmission time, reporting a moving distance moved during the period between the first transmission time and the second transmission time, and receiving a position of the MT determined based on the first sounding signal, the second sounding signal, and the moving distance.

    • A method for transmitting signals in a multi-carrier radio transmission system is provided, wherein a transmission block is composed of N consecutive OFDM symbols in a time domain and M consecutive physical sub-carriers in a frequency domain, where N is an integer and not less than 1, and M is an integer and not less than 1. The method comprises following steps: a transmitting end encodes and interleaves data; at least one pilot stream exists at the transmitting end, only one pilot signal is transmitted in frequency area for transmission of the pilot signal, and at most one pilot signal is transmitted in each group of OFDM symbols; the transmitting end performs IFFT operation on the encoded and interleaved data and the pilot signal; the transmitting end transmits out the data and the pilot signal through antennae after inserting a preamble signal.

    • The present invention provides a phthalate-free plasticizer for polymer resins. The phthalate-free plasticizer according to the invention includes a mixture of different triesters of glycerin, at least one of which meets the formula: CH2(OOR1)CH(OOR2)CH2(OOR3) wherein at least two of R1, R2, and R3 are different alkyl or aryl groups. Phthalate-free plasticizers according to the invention can be made by esterifying glycerin with a mixture of acids in the presence of a catalyst. Preferably, the mixture of acids includes at least two selected from the group consisting of alkyl acids and aryl acids, with each acid in the mixture containing up to about 11 carbon atoms, and more preferably from about 4 to about 9 carbon atoms each. The plasticizer according to the invention can be used to modify the properties of a wide variety of polymers including vinyl polymers, rubbers, polyurethanes, and acrylics, and has superb thermostability and low volatility.

    • A method for random access of Machine to Machine (M2M) terminals is applied to a plurality of M2M terminals. The method includes dividing the plurality of M2M terminals into at least one terminal group, and allocating an identifier for each terminal group. After receiving the paging broadcast signaling transmitted by the base station, an M2M terminal in a terminal group determines whether the terminal group identifier carried in the paging broadcast signaling is the identifier of the terminal group that includes the M2M terminal. If true, the M2M terminal starts a random access process. A base station transmits a paging broadcast signaling on the basis of a terminal group rather than issuing a paging broadcast signaling only to individual M2M terminals so that a plurality of M2M terminals can be randomly accessed smoothly and efficiently without causing network access congestion nor affecting the use of public network users.
