    • The present invention is directed to cementitious dry cast mixtures for forming cementitious articles, particularly a cementitious dry cast mixture containing a dispersant, wherein said dispersant is a derivatized polycarboxylate dispersant which is a polymer comprising units derived from at least a substituted carboxylic acid monomer or substituted ethylenically unsaturated monomer, and optionally including at least one of an unsaturated hydrocarbon, an N-polyoxyalkylene maleimide, and a condensation product of an unsubstituted carboxylic acid monomer and an alkoxypolyoxyalkylene primary amine substituted carboxylic acid monomer. The cementitious dry cast mixture has a reduced effective dose of dispersant; compacts and consolidates in response to vibration energy; reduces the cycle time in the production of articles manufactured from dry cast mixtures; provides for increased green strength, density, and early compressive strength; and improves the surface aesthetics of articles manufactured from dry cast mixtures. Additionally, a surface active agent/air entraining agent can be included in combination with the dispersant to provide for increased swipe effect.

    • A visual navigation system provides absolute position information to multiple automatically guided vehicles (AGVs) such as mobile robots. The beacon-equipped AGVs emit light visible to overhead television cameras. The beacons are arranged and controlled so that the vision systems can acquire, measure, and report the locations of multiple AGVs. The system controller incorporates a programmable "factory map", or knowledge base, of allowable paths of travel for the AGVs, which navigate by dead reckoning with periodic position updates from the visual navigation system. The visual navigation system notifies the autonomous AGVs and the system controller when an AGV strays from its command path. The combination of computer controls in the elements of the system provides the means to stop and to recover straying AGVs. The navigation system visually monitors normal AGV travel, off-course corrections, "lost" AGV searches, and recovery. Thus, it provides closed-loop, servo-like operation.

    • A computer start-up timing control device and a method thereof are provided for generating a power supply signal to enable a power supply unit (PSU) to provide power. The device includes a chipset, a delay circuit, and a logic gate. The delay circuit delays a standby power ready signal of the computer to generate a standby power delay signal. The chipset generates a power supply signal. The standby power delay signal enables the logic gate to transmit the power supply signal to the PSU via the logic gate. The PSU provides a power to make the computer enter a start-up procedure. The standby power delay signal delays the time for the chipset to send a power supply signal, so that a baseboard management controller (BMC) has enough time to complete initialization. Therefore, the chipset is prevented from accessing the BMC and obtaining erroneous information before the BMC finishes initialization.

    • An apparatus, product formulation, and method for using heat to excite a multi-compound layer to generate infrared wavelength, wherein the apparatus includes 1) a multi-compound TDP layer which can be excited by heat to generate infrared wavelength and 2) a heat-generating chamber separated by a first non-permeable wall, wherein the reservoir and chamber are formed in or supported by a housing. The TDP layer is composed of more than 30 compounds including ZrO, SiO2, SiC2, Al2O3, FeO, MnO2, Cu2O, MgO, ZnO, and Cr2O3. The heat-generating chamber includes a medium for generating controlled heat, preferably a chemical composition made of carbon, iron, water, and/or salt, which is activated upon contact with air (oxygen). The heat can last as long as 16 hours. The function of the heat-generating element is to supply energy to excite TDP multi-compound layer to generate infrared wavelength at 2-18 micrometer (especially at 4-14 micrometer) range, for all types of pain treatment. The apparatus may also include a layer contacting user's skin to store active pharmaceuticals and transdermal system to additionally relieve pain and improve symptoms associated with arthritis, soft tissue damage, neck vertebrate pain, lumber muscle strain, lumber intervertebrate disc herniation, arthritis around shoulder, prostate inflammation, pelvic inflammation, pain of bone hyperplasia, gastroenteritis, and dysmenorrhoea.
