摘要： A metal laminate gasket of the invention is used for an internal combustion engine having at least one hole to be sealed. The gasket is basically formed of first and second metal plates extending substantially throughout an entire area of the engine. The first plate includes an annular recess formed at an upper side around a first hole to form a stepped portion. The second plate includes a curved portion to define a second hole to be located inside the first hole, and a flange extending from the curved portion in a direction away from the second hole. The flange has a thickness greater than the depth of the annular recess. When the gasket is assembled, the flange is located above the annular recess. The flange provides surface pressure around the hole of the engine greater than that outside the recess when the gasket is tightened. The surface pressure around the hole may be precisely adjusted.

The beads intersect together to form an intersecting portion, which has an outer edge to surround the intersecting portion, a center portion in the center thereof, and a surrounding portion situated between the center portion and the outer edge. A cutting portion penetrating through the plate is formed at the center portion. When the metal plate is tightened, the cutting portion operates to disperse stress applied to the center portion of the intersecting portion. Therefore, equal surface pressure is formed on the intersecting portion as well as the beads.

The gasket comprises a first metal plate, and a second metal plate situated under the first metal plate. The first plate includes a first sealing device around a first hole to be sealed, and an embossed portion between the first sealing device and a base portion of the first plate. The second plate has a second hole larger than the first sealing device, and a second sealing device around the second hole. When the first and second plates are assembled, the second plate does not pile the first sealing device. The gasket is securely sealed by the combination of the first and second sealing devices and the embossed portion.

Therefore, after the plates are assembled, the kind or thickness of the gasket can be easily identified.

摘要： A clip of the invention is designed to attach a gasket to a gasket attaching portion of an engine part. The clip comprises a body, a projection formed at a first end portion of the body, and an engaging portion formed at a second end portion of the body. The projection extends substantially perpendicularly to the body, and the engaging portion extends in the same direction as in the projection. When the gasket is attached to the gasket attaching portion, the projection engages the gasket and the engaging portion engages the gasket attaching portion of the engine part. The gasket can be easily installed between the two engine parts.

摘要： A steel laminate type cylinder head gasket is installed in an engine having a cylinder block with a cylinder bore, a cylinder head with an auxiliary combustion chamber and a mouth plate attached to the cylinder head. The gasket is formed of first and second plates laminating together, a compressible member and a sealing device for sealing around the cylinder bore. The first plate includes a hole adjacent the cylinder bore. The hole is located under a part of the mouth plate to form an elongated strip between the hole and the cylinder bore. The compressible member is situated inside the hole to support the mouth plate. A supporting device is also formed at the elongated strip to support the mouth plate together with the wire ring. Accordingly, damage by movement of the mouth plate is substantially prevented.
