    • Information regarding individuals that fit a bad performance definition, such as individuals that have previously defaulted on a financial instrument or have declared bankruptcy, is used to develop a model that is usable to determine whether an individual that does not fit the bad performance definition is more likely to subsequently default on a financial instrument or to declare bankruptcy. The model may be used to generate a score for each individual, and the score may be used to segment the individual into a segment of a segmentation structure that includes individuals with related scores, where segments may include different models for generating a final risk score for the individuals assigned to the particular segments. The segment to which an individual is assigned, which may be determined based at least partly on the score assigned to the individual, may affect the final risk score that is assigned to the individual.

    • A system and method is provided to allow a consumer to interactively explore his credit score by submitting hypothetical values based on his actual credit data. The system uses the consumer's real credit data and the submitted hypothetical values to calculate a simulated credit score based on a simulator scorecard. The consumer may then observe the changes in the resultant scores. The system and the scorecard may utilize fewer data elements than a complete credit-worthiness scorecard and may instead focus on the key elements affecting a consumer's credit score. The system may be implemented in part on a web server or as a stand-alone application. The system may also update the score dynamically as the consumer adjusts the hypothetical values or may require the consumer to affirmatively submit the new hypothetical data.

    • A loan opportunity system is configured to analyze loan data and/or population data in order to determine loan opportunities for a lender, such as a credit union. In one embodiment a lender is initially provided with one or more estimated loan opportunity indicators, such as indicators of quantities of loans in a specific geographic region for which the lender can likely offer lower rates. Subsequently, upon completion of a payment agreement with a loan opportunity provider, for example, and establishment of loan parameters associated with borrowers (and their existing loans) to which the lender would like to make firm offers of credit, the lender is provided with a loan opportunity list indicating details of borrowers and their respective loans for which the particular lender can likely offer lower rates.

    • One embodiment of the system and method described herein provides a score generator system that generates an automated vehicle specific valuation of a used car based on the physical and historical attributes of that vehicle. This score may indicate the likelihood that the vehicle will be on the road in a specific period of time. The score may give an absolute percentage of such likelihood or it may give a value relative to all other used vehicles in a database, all other used vehicles of the same make/model/year, or a certain subset of the vehicles in a database. In one embodiment, the score generator system includes a data link module for linking vehicle data and filter module for applying a multi-level filters that process the linked vehicle data.

    • Systems and methods are described that simulate a credit score. The system enables a user to modify a credit data element in order to determine its effect on a credit score. The user can modify the element directly or simulate an action that, if performed, would modify the element. Since the number of possible modifications and actions can be overwhelming, in one embodiment, the system suggests modifications and actions to be simulated. These suggestions can be tailored to a user's goal, such as increasing a credit score by a particular number of points or allocating a particular sum of money in order to maximize a credit score. In one embodiment, the system obtains credit data from multiple credit bureaus and can determine credit scores using different algorithms, such as the different algorithms used by the different credit bureaus.
