    • A rear operation body is attached on a rear portion of a front case via a pair of front supporting plate springs. A front operation body is provided in a frontward of the front case and the front operation body and the rear operation body are connected via a penetration portion. A rear case is provided in a rearward of the front case, and a rear supporting plate spring is provided in the rear case. A flexible print substrate is provided in a frontward thereof and a plurality of detection members are mounted on the flexible print substrate. When an operation surface of the front operation body is pressed, the front supporting plate springs are deformed. Thereby, the rear operation body is moved such that any of the plurality of detection members is operated.

    • A horn switch gear includes a backward moving body, a stationary body, a biasing member, and a pair of contact members. The backward moving body, which is configured to move backward, faces the stationary body. The biasing member, which is interposed between the backward moving body and the stationary body, biases the backward moving body in a restoring direction. The contact members, which are brought into or out of contact with each other by a forward or backward movement of the backward moving body, are moved together with the backward moving body. The stationary body includes an interposition which is interposed between the contact members for separating the contact members while the backward moving body is in a restored position, and which moves away from between the contact members to bring the contact members into contact with each other while the backward moving body is in a backward position.

    • Shaped contacts (40, 42) for interconnecting circuits or for use in an integrated circuit test probe are electroplated as integral parts of circuit traces (34) upon a stainless steel mandrel (10). A shaped, hardened steel indentation tool (16, 18, 26, 28) makes indentations (24a, 24b) of predetermined shape in the surface of the mandrel (10), which is provided with a pattern of dielectric, such as Teflon (12), or photoresist. Areas of the steel mandrel, including the indentations (24a,24b), are electroplated with a pattern of conductive material (34, 36, 38), and a dielectric substrate (32) is laminated to the conductive material. The circuit features formed by the indentations define raised contacts of a conical (18) or pyramidal (28) shape, having free ends with a small area that allows higher pressures to be applied to a surface against which the contacts are pressed. This enables the contacts to penetrate foreign materials, such as oxides, that may form on the surface of the pads (56, 58), to which the contacts are to be connected to ensure a good contact without any need for wiping action. The projecting contacts can also be pressed into plated holes (82, 84) in a substrate, such as a printed wiring board, to which mateable/demateable electrical connection is to be made.

    • An illuminator assembly is disclosed which is formed from a light emitting diode (LED) having two electrode pins extending therefrom which are cut to predetermined lengths. One lead then is formed to provide a circularly shaped spring support base and the other lead is bent to provide an attachment potion extending through the center of the opening formed by the spring support base. A capture spring of conical configuration then is attached to the centrally disposed lead which extends through the spring support base opening. A compressible coil switching spring then is attached to the spring support base. The assemblage thus formed is employed with a battery of a variety having a forward face which engages the free end of the switching spring and which includes a rod shaped electrode extending from the center portion thereof. Upon providing relative mutually approaching movement of a battery and illuminator assembly, the rod-like cathode is engaged by the capture spring and an electrical circuit is completed to illuminate the LED. Conversely, the releasing or reverse movement under the drive imparted by the switching spring switches the assemblage to an open circuit condition.
