摘要： A banding apparatus including a housing and a base plate which are conected with each other through expansion screws. A receiving slot for receiving overlapping band sections is provided between the base plate and the housing. A band tightening device serves to tighten the overlapping band sections. A tool serves to connect the overlapping band sections. In the process, a drive device moves an upper tool part against a lower tool part on the base plate. The introduction of an excessive drive force in the tool and then the band sections to be connected is prevented by means of the expansion screws and/or is displayed, thereby preventing damage to the banding apparatus and the band sections to be sealed.

The tool (10) has a housing (18) and a pull-up/cut-off handle (20) for cooperatingly tensioning the band (12). Upon properly tensioning the band (12) around the object (16), the handle (20) is further manipulated to engage a locking/cutting lever (26). The lever (26) engages a head (42) which holds a punch (46) therein and includes a surface (49). The punch (46) first contacts the band (12) to deform and lock the band (12) to itself. The surface (49) of the head (48) then bends and cuts the tail (134) from the band (12).

摘要： A binding tool for binding electric wires or the like into a sheaf with a band and a small square-sectioned fastener, comprises a tool body with an internal path for containing a plurality of fasteners and a band case containing a band in roll form.The band is manually drawn out of the band case and is inserted into a passage in the tool body from its rear open end. The band thus inserted into the tool body is pushed out of the front open end of the passage passing through one of the appropriately positioned fasteners and is wound around electric wires or the like. The free end portion of the band is then inserted back into and fastened to the fastener. Then the band is cut off by a cutter moving across the front open end of the tool body.

摘要： A strapping tool for tensioning a strap loop around an article and for crimping or notching a push-type seal around the overlapping strap portions is provided with a frame, an arm pivotally mounted on the frame for pivoting movement in a first direction and in a second, opposite direction, an abutment nose on the arm for engaging the seal during tensioning, a spring biasing the arm in the first direction during tensioning, a motor-driven tension wheel for pulling one of the overlapping strap portions through the seal to tension the loop whereby the tension reaction urges the abutment nose against the seal and, at a predetermined tension level, causes the arm to overcome the spring and pivot relative to the frame in the second direction. A jaw assembly is provided for crimping or notching the seal and a control means is provided for actuating the jaw assembly in response to the movement of the arm in the second direction at the predetermined tension level.

摘要： A strap fastener and method for securing a strap to the fastener for forming a tight loop for strapping an object. The fastener is a one-piece, generally rectangularly shaped body having either a single slot or a pair of slots providing a pair of opposed inside edges, an intermediate slot, and an end slot with all slots being sized to receive flexible strap. A length of strap is wrapped around an object and secured in a tight loop to the fastener by a method which includes the steps of threading a first end portion of the strap through the fastener between the opposed inside edges and out through the end slot, pulling the first end portion of the strap around the object to be strapped, threading the first end portion of the strap through the fastener between the inside edges and folding the first end portion back upon itself to form a first strap looped end portion, pulling a second end portion of the strap while holding the fastener to tighten the strap around the object to be strapped, threading the second end portion of the strap through the intermediate slot and out through the end slot to form a second strap looped end portion, and folding the second end portion of the strap back upon itself and then through the fastener between the opposed inside edges.

摘要： A tool for applying ties to bundles comprises a magazine chamber leading directly to the path of a reciprocable carriage adapted on forward movement to engage the leading tie in the magazine and drive it into a loop guide releasably disposed about a bundle. The tie tail is reversed about the bundle by the loop guide under the driving force of the carriage to pass through the head of the tie in a reverse direction to engage a gripper in the carriage. Reversal of the carriage tensions the tie about the bundle and repositions the carriage in a starting position in relation to the magazine. A shear device operating transversely of the carriage path and disposed at its forward end severs the tie tail adjacent the tie head, and opens the loop guide for removal of the bundle.
