摘要： The bars of one of two sets of interleaved screen bars is extended beyond the interleaved portion of the screen bed, thus forming a region of the screen bed which has screens particles of intermediate dimensions. A second improvement is a clamping member which holds the downwardly extending legs of individual bars of the screen. The clamping member is a steel channel which has a steeply peaked roof between legs which sheds particles. The bar legs fit into slots which penetrate the peaked roof transverse to the lengthwise direction of the channel. The legs are retained by transverse bolts which pass through the vertical sidewalls of the channel and the legs, retaining and clamping them. The third improvement mounts the clamping member to a flange which may be traversed by a screw and bolt arrangement such that the clamping member may be adjusted in its lateral position. A fourth improvement is a clamping member which extends longitudinally and which has a keyway formed therein. Bars with downwardly extending legs extend transversely to the direction of the clamping member. The legs have transverse keys which fit into the keyway formed in the clamping member.

摘要： A disc screen with spacers of limited compressibility is disclosed which has an elongated metal shaft member with a plurality of screen discs mounted co-rotatively on the shaft member. The screen discs have central shaft receiving openings through which the shaft extends coaxially. The screen discs are separated and spaced on the metallic shaft member by a plurality of metallic nonresilient and nonmetallic resilient spacers located between and coaxial with adjacent screen discs. The preferred embodiment of this invention has two metallic spacers with one nonmetallic resilient spacer between them, with the group of three spacers being located between each pair of screen discs which are spaced along the shaft member. The nonmetallic resilient spacers, which are preferably polyurethane, function to allow limited tilting of the screen discs out of the plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation.

摘要： A disk screen or like shaft structure is disclosed in which screen disks, surround disks, and spacers are connected together in modular relation. The surround disks have metallic flanges which shield the plastic spacers which are located on either side of the surround disks between the screen dists. The spacers are formed of resilient plastic to allow the disks to deflect from their radial plane and the flanges of the surround disks are sufficiently smaller than the spacers to avoid contact with the screen disks in their deflectred positions. The assembly is placed under a predertermined endwise compression and the module if mounted on a rectangular shaft which is suitably supported for rotation. The assembly is particularly suited for screening a wood chips in the paper making industry where exposed plastic parts is undersirable.

摘要： A separator for material which includes components of different specific gravities and sizes, includes a series of spaced, parallel shafts disposed in essentially the same plane, which may be tilted upwardly. A series of non-circular discs, such as elliptical, three lobed, etc., are mounted on each shaft and interspaced with the discs on adjacent shafts. A pipe, on which the discs are mounted, or a spacer mounted on the shaft provides circular surfaces between the discs which clear the projections of the discs of adjacent shafts but when the disc surfaces between the projections come opposite the pipe or spacer, cause holes or spaces to be produced, through which material may fall, if sufficiently small. As the discs rotate, they not only cause the holes to open and close, but also propel the material both upwardly and forwardly. The discs may be mounted on a shaft in a spiral relation, so that not only is the material pushed upwardly and forwardly, but also laterally. Several sets of discs may be used, with the discharge end of one set being above the receiving end of the next set, so that the material will tend to be turned over as it falls from one set to the next. A paddle may be used to enhance the turning, while the paddle may be rotated at a sufficient speed to break glass bottles or the like. The holes produced by the rotating discs may increase in size from one set to the next.
