Furthermore, a frequency divider is connected downstream of the subordinate oscillator. The frequency divider divides the frequency of an output signal of the subordinate oscillator by an integer divider value. The divider value differs from the value x.

摘要： A multi-channel transmitter (200) in accordance with the present invention overcomes the disadvantages of applying adaptive antenna array technology to multi-channel communication systems. The multi-channel transmitter includes a channel processing element (210), a plurality of radio frequency processing elements (206), and an antenna array (102). The channel processing element includes a channel processor adapted to receive a communication signal from a communication network, a splitter (216) coupled to an output of the channel processor for producing a plurality of substantially identical processed digital communication signal outputs. A plurality of gain and phase adjusters (214) in the channel processing element are coupled to the substantially identical processed digital communication signal outputs. An output of each phase and gain adjuster (214) is coupled to a plurality of up-converters (212), which each produce a digital intermediate frequency output. The plurality of radio frequency processing elements (206) are each coupled to an output of the digital up-converters (212). The radio frequency processing elements (206) each include a digital summer (224), a digital-to-analog converter (222), and a radio frequency processor (220). The antenna array has a plurality of antenna elements (104), each coupled to an output of the plurality of radio frequency processing elements (206).

摘要： In an amplitude modulator, a delta sigma modulator converts a digital or analog modulation signal into a binary signal. The binary signal and a carrier signal are sent to a multiplication circuit. The phase of the carrier signal is changed to normal phase or opposite phase. The resultant carrier signal is output as an amplitude modulation wave. An orthogonal modulator sends a local oscillation signal to a phase shifter. The phase shifter outputs two carrier signals with phases which differ by 90.degree. each other. The modulation signal and carrier signals are sent to the amplitude modulator. The amplitude modulator outputs an amplitude modulation signal. These signals are sent to an analog signal composing unit. The analog signal composing unit composes the input signals and outputs an amplitude and phase modulation signal.

Additionally, the PM control loop is nested about a power amplifier (PA), allowing the PM control loop to correct for any distortion introduced by the PA.

摘要： Electronic apparatus generates first and second output signals having a quadrature phase relationship therebetween. A local oscillator signal with a reference phase is applied as an input to first and second signal branches. The second signal branch includes a phase control circuit for subjecting input signals passing therethrough to a determined phase shift. The phase control circuit is responsive to an applied DC control signal to adjust any phase shift error through the phase shift circuit from a predetermined phase shift to assure that the second output signal exhibits the required quadrature phase relationship to the first output signal. A memory/microprocessor combination stores a digital value that is indicative of a DC control signal which must be applied to the control circuit to alter the phase shift through the phase control circuit to the predetermined phase shift. The microprocessor accesses the digital parameter and applies it to the phase control circuit through a digital to analog converter. The apparatus is included as part of a radiotelephone wherein quadrature signals are required for modulation purposes.
