摘要： A front panel (12), a back panel (14) and a center panel (16) define a plurality of parallel slideways (30) between the panels (12, 14). Each of a plurality of users grasp a projecting tab portion (42) of a slide member (40) provided in each slideway (30) and pulls it outwardly until a chosen number from a strip of numbers on the slide member (40) is exposed on the slide member (40) immediately outwardly of the edge of the device. The user then tears off the projecting portion of the slide member (40). The slide member (40) carries an indicator at its opposite end which identifies the selected number on a corresponding strip of number provided inside of the device on a strip (32) of the center panel (16) which is adjacent to the slideway (30) in which such slide member (40) travels. After all of the slide members (40) have been manipulated in this manner, the device is given to a person who desires the information inside the device. Such person opens a flap-like door (20) provided in the front panel (12) to, in that manner, expose the set of selected numbers which have been recorded inside of the device.

A plurality of elongated sticks are used, each having a column of numbers on one face and an associated column of word parts on the opposite face of each stick. The word parts may be letters, groups of letters or syllables. A few such sticks are arranged for longitudinal sliding motion in an up and down direction in a stick holder. Windows provided on opposite faces of the stick holder permit viewing of a row of numbers on one side and a row of word parts on the other side. The sticks are independently slid up and down by a child to a selected row of numbers. When the device is turned over the word formed of the row of word parts in the other window is read by the child.

摘要： A device for teaching Morse code comprising four flat members in superposition. These four members comprise a base member imprinted with alphamerics except ETANIM, a first central member slidably mounted on the base member having a series of windows for viewing a selected group of alphamerics from among those imprinted on the base member, a second central member slidably mounted on the first central member having a window positioned at right angles to the series of windows on the first central member, and a top member mounted on the second central member and affixed to the base member. The window of the second central member permits viewing a single indicium from among the selected group of alphamerics viewed through the series of windows in the first central member. The top member has a window for viewing the single indicium observable through the window in the second central member. The top member has imprinted thereon the letters ETANIM, and the positive integers if desired, and has two sets of Morse indicia corresponding to these alphamerics. Means are provided for sliding the first and second central members relative to the top and bottom members. The alphameric indicia on the base member are positioned such that the sum of any Morse indicium selected from each of the two sets of Morse indicia by movement of indicating means associated with the central members will cause display of an alphameric corresponding to the sum in the window of the second central member.
