    • A self-contained, power operated, portable target apparatus utilizing a base supported, linearally reciprocal carriage actuator driven by a reversible AC electric motor to actuate a crank along a vertical arc; the crank having pivotable connection with the carriage actuator at one end and positive fixed connection at its other end with a horizontal rotatably supported drive shaft for partially rotating the shaft in response to limited linear movements of the carriage actuator. Two, laterally spaced co-planar lift arms are secured to the shaft for movement between vertical and horizontal positions. Elongated target supporting pins project from near the outer free ends of the lift arms for inserted reception in connector sockets extending into the body of a three dimensional target. Heavy springs are coupled to the carriage actuator for assisting the motor in overcoming the inertia of the target load as it is raised from a horizontal or prone hidden position to an upright display position. Remote motor controls serve to actuate the motor which is powered from a portable battery/AC convertor power source. Modified telescopic shafts, shaft supports and adjustable target supports adapt the target apparatus to targets of various sizes and dimensions.

    • There is provided amusement apparatus enabling an externally rearwardly positioned operator to peer forwardly into an upright hollow housing and containing therewithin at least one target that is scoreably negotiatable by the operator with a manipulatable weapon attached to the housing. The housed target is also independently scoreably negotiatable by a programmed visible robot which seemingly to the operator takes aim and actively competes with him for the same target. Preferred embodiments include a plurality of distinct target locations, scheduling for automatically briefly displaying individual targets according to a predetermined schedule whereby the operator and robot might simultaneously compete for being the first to score a same target, an indicator to indicate the relative success of the operator and the robot of negotiating the target, reversing apparatus for the robot program relative to the targets presentation schedule thereby frustrating the operator''s attempt to anticipate the robot, and handicaps to sharpen the robot and operator competition according to the operator''s demonstrated weapon skill.

    • A target actuation system is provided. The target actuation system includes a housing having a target actuation mechanism, remote control unit, actuation power source, and a mechanism guard plate. The target actuation mechanism includes an actuator, a target attachment feature configured to receive a target, and an attachment spindle about which the target attachment feature can rotate. The remote control unit is operatively connected to the actuation mechanism and configured to actuate the actuation mechanism upon receiving an actuation signal from a remote transmitter. Once actuated, the substrate is moved from a target-unexposed position to a target-exposed position. The target attachment feature includes modular configurations that allow for the target actuation system to be reconfigured for a particular type of target movement.

    • A firearm laser training system according to the present invention includes a laser assembly, actuable target assemblies and a computer system. The laser assembly is attached to a user firearm to project a laser beam toward the target. The target assemblies raise and lower targets in accordance with control signals from the computer system. Targets are raised to indicate intended targets, and are lowered in response to the beam impacting the raised targets or upon expiration of an interval without a beam impact. A corresponding target assembly forwards information to the computer system for display via wired or wireless communications. In addition, the training system may employ stationary target assemblies and/or laser-detecting body gear worn by exercise participants. The target assemblies and body gear communicate impact information to the computer system via wireless communications and may be utilized to create various training scenarios for firearm training.
