    • A torch guide device for cutting target material is presented, the torch guide device including a torch cradle assembly coupled to a rail assembly. The torch cradle assembly is configured for holding a torch to align a torch tip of the torch to the target material. The torch cradle assembly is movable along the rail assembly for cutting the target material along a cutting path. The connector member couples the torch cradle assembly to the rail assembly. The connector member comprises a pivot for pivoting the torch cradle assembly relative to the rail assembly. The torch cradle assembly, in a first position, pivots about the pivot to engage at least a portion of the rail assembly to establish an orientation of the torch tip relative to the target material.

    • The object of the present invention is to provide a method for cutting with gas which uses a cutting tip including a preheating hole for forming a preheating flame with a fuel gas and an oxygen gas for preheating, and an oxygen gas hole for cutting a workpiece by injecting oxygen gas for cutting, and which can decrease an amount of hydrogen gas used by supply a fuel gas to the preheating hole, which is appropriate in both heating and cutting the workpiece, and an apparatus for cutting with gas, and the present invention provides an apparatus for cutting with gas (30) which supplies an oxygen gas, and a fuel gas to a cutting tip (20) including a preheating hole (23) and an oxygen gas hole for cutting (22), wherein the apparatus (30) includes a supply circuit for oxygen gas (50), a supply circuit for hydrogen gas (41), a supply circuit for hydrocarbon-based gas (45), and a gas supply control means (60), and the gas supply control means (60) can alter a ratio of the hydrogen gas and the hydrocarbon-based gas which are supplied to the preheating hole in a case of heating the workpiece and a case of cutting the workpiece.

The downdraft cutting table assembly may also include a slag removal system. The arm assembly is actuated by the cutting torch assembly as the cutting torch assembly positions the cutting torch over the cutting table. Actuation of the arm assembly by the cutting torch assembly causes the arm assembly to pivot the door open for allowing fumes from the cutting torch to be drawn into the exhaust duct.

    • An improved thermal lance is made of a low carbon steel sheath having an internal bore and a thin cylindrical rod that is roll-formed from low carbon steel sheet. The rod being sized for conforming fit in the bore of the tube and has a length dimension that is longer than the length of the tube. The rod is inserted into the bore of the tube and allowed to move axially within the tube under propulsion of the pressurized oxygen to allow the rod to be burned at a rate independent of the burn rate of the sheath. One or more apertures in the tube restrict the flow of oxygen until the rod is ignited. An O ring located near the fuse protector of the lance housing keeps the lance from moving during routine handling and storage.
