摘要： A fabric having a camouflage appearance in the near infrared (NIR) spectrum with a substantially a single color appearance in the visible (VIS) spectrum is provided. The novel fabric may include at least two synthetic polymer multifilament yarns. The multifilament yarns are selected from 3 types of multifilament yarns: multifilaments comprising carbon black, multifilaments comprising pigments which modify the NIR reflectance characteristics of the multifilaments, and multifilaments substantially free of additives capable of modifying the NIR reflectance characteristics of the multifilaments. The fabric is dyed to a substantially single color appearance in the visible spectrum. In general, the fabric has a NIR spectrum comprising two reflectance curves having about 10% to about 85% reflectance separated by about 5% reflectance in a range of wavelengths from about 700 to about 860 nanometers (nm).The fabric may be used to manufacture garments, equipment, tents and tarpaulins that exhibit a camouflage appearance in NIR reflectance observed using night vision devices. At the same time, these garments, equipment, tents and tarpaulins have a single color and substantially non-camouflage in the VIS reflectance spectrum.

Yarn is formed from staple fibers twisted together with a certain number or twists-per-inch. The twist-per-inch of the yarn in the fabric is related to the yarn count and a proper balancing of the two results in a twist multiplier of preferably less than 1.5. The Yarn Count is indirectly related to the fiber diameter. The fabric embodying the present invention has a softer more luxurious feel, more bulk, and greater absorbency than a conventional fabric.

The present invention provides a warp knit consisting of a technical face, a rear face, and an intermediate spacer arranged between the technical face and the rear face, the technical face consisting of ultra fine yarn with monofilament denier of 0.01 to about 0.3 denier, the intermediate spacer consisting of spandex elastic yarn, and the rear face consisting of synthetic yarn with monofilament denier of 1 to about 5 denier, wherein the recovery rate of elongation in the directions of wale and course is 25 to about 60%. The warp knit according to the present invention can be used to manufacture artificial leathers or ladies' clothes.

摘要： A fiber reinforced matrix composite mirror that eliminates the problem of “print through”. A layer of small unbundled fibers in the matrix diffuses and randomize any stresses that are created by the weave pattern of the fiber reinforcement so that the coarse texture is not transferred to the optical quality surface thus eliminating “print through”. The layer can be provided in a variety of embodiments using random fibrils, a continuous fiber mat or a weave of single or finely towed continuous fibers. The fiber reinforced mirror is constructed by adding a mixture of matrix pre-cursor and fibers or fibrils to a common graphite fiber reinforced matrix construction.
