    • A fixture for recycling bottles made of plastics, which includes a base plate and means for anchoring the bottles arranged on the upper side of the base plate and engaging in indentations provided on the bottle bottoms, and a recycling bottle made of plastics to be used with such a fixture and including an indentation on its bottle bottom. In order to facilitate handling of the bottles for recycling purposes and to enable the automated determination of possible deposits for the bottles as well as the simple and rapid recyclability of the bottles, it is provided that the anchoring means, in a sense oriented away from the upper side of the base plate, have decreasing cross sections and barb-shaped formations. Thus, the optimum support of the bottles on the fixture is safeguarded. Preferably, the base plate is located within the projection of the bottles onto the base plate.

    • A container has a polygonal and generally planar floor panel having a plurality of edges, an upper face, and a lower face. Respective side walls extend upward from the edges of the floor panel and a plurality of ribs extend downward from the lower face of the floor panel adjacent the edge. An annular floor strip fixed to the ribs forms therewith an annular array of pockets having horizontally outwardly open mouths. In accordance with the invention closure strips engaged over the mouths horizontally close the pockets and are fixed permanently to the mouths of the pockets. The floor panel, side walls, ribs, and floor strip are unitarily formed of plastic.

If the bottle crate is placed on one of the outer walls while containing bottles, each lower bottle tilts about a support formed by the supporting fingers, the bottom of the bottle being displaced in the process against the respective outer wall, and each upper bottle is likewise tilted, about a support formed by the hollows, into a position in which it is secured against sliding out of the respective positioning compartment, this tilting movement involving deformation of the respective dividing tongue. Each dividing tongue is located between the respective bottles at all times and prevents them from banging against one another.

    • The adjacent edges for two covers of a tote box have interlocking fingers where separation is resisted by means of hooks on one or more of the covers engaging side flanges of the box to lock the covers in place. The closed covers present a flat surface inset with respect to a plurality of abutments in the vicinity of the sides and ends that prevent side shifting of a like box stacked on top of it. The side abutments have a second function of latching into the end walls to hold the covers in their open position, even when a plurality of like boxes are nested. The latches and locks are unitarily molded into the cover and provided with cam surfaces that together with inherent resiliency of the structure provide for locking and latching by movement of the cover.
