    • A digital color encoder capable of reducing the aperture distortion of D/A conversion and the waveform distortion of the video signal without resulting in the increase of the consumed electric current. At first, digital signals sampled with a sampling frequency are inputted as original color signals. The digital composite color video signals of the sampling frequency fl are created from those signals by digital signal processing with the combination of matrix circuit, color burst controlling circuit, modulation circuit, addition circuit, and synchronization signal adding circuit, etc. Next, the sampling frequency of the composite color video signal is converted by a sampling frequency converting circuit inserted immediately before the D/A converter. The converted signal is further converted to an analog signal capable of being inputted into the TV set by a D/A converter, and the signal is outputted as a video signal.

    • An image signal processing device according to the present invention is a device for processing an image signal. The device is provided with a first differential amplifier for receiving a color-difference signal and a reference signal, a second differential amplifier for receiving a burst flag signal and the reference signal, and a modulator for receiving together signals outputted from the first and second differential amplifiers and modulating the received signals by using a carrier signal.     • A composite video signal generation method and device comprises circuits for processing a digital signal, by which the circuits can be integrated. The method comprises the steps of calculating a digital luminance signal and two digital chrominance signals combined from digital primary color component signals, balance-modulating a subcarrier by the two digital chrominance signals, and combining the balance-modulated signals and the luminance signal. In the balance-modulation step, a series of phase information values by adding one by one a value of a sampling period of the digital primary color component signal per a subcarrier period is obtained, cosine function values and sine function values are operated in response to the phase information values, and the cosine function values and the sine function values are multiplied by the two digital chrominance signals, respectively. Accordingly, phase information values of the device can be varied, and if the sampling period of the system changes, the digital primary color component signals can be converted to the NTSC signal.
