摘要： A network and methods for supporting concurrent consumption of broadcast and user captured media content are disclosed. Various embodiments of the present invention permit a first user to concurrently consume media content from a server and a second user of a media exchange network. The first user may also concurrently provide media content to the second user of the media exchange network. The media content shared by users may be stored at a user's location, stored on a server at a third location in the media exchange network, or may originate from a media peripheral device, and may be audio, a still image, video, or data.

摘要： According to a conventional technique, in the case where a program is stored into a non-volatile memory once and then activated, authentication of the program is performed immediately before such activation. However, calculations such as decryption of encrypted values are required before the activation of the program starts, which causes the problem that responsiveness is decreased in proportion to the time required for calculations. In order to solve this problem, authentication of a program is performed immediately before such program is stored, so that no authentication is performed or only a part of the authentication is performed to verify the validity of certificates at program activation time.

摘要： A television display system with a television display for displaying television services and internet information, and an input unit for providing a command, the television display system receiving a data stream containing a plurality of key files, each key file including executable data and a respective key image representing said executable data. The television display system includes a memory for continuously maintaining over a period at least one of the key files, a display section displaying upon occurrence of any of a number of preselected events, a key image stored in said memory, superposed on a displayed said television service, said key image upon activation executing said executable data included in the same key file. The system also includes a command section for executing content of the key file of the displayed respective image conditional upon a key command being provided by the input unit.

In addition to a broadcast interface for receiving a broadcast transport stream, the MHP terminal device comprises a local network interface. Via said interface, the MHP terminal device is connected to a local network, to which other network devices are connected as well. By means of these MHP applications, the network devices can be remotely controlled from the MHP terminal device, whereby commands and messages are exchanged via the local network.

Firstly, identify a program map information corresponding to the program and an application information corresponding to the application conveyed in the transport stream. Then, assemble at least part of the identified program map information and at least part of the identified application information to obtain a service map information. The service map information associates the program with packet identifiers used to identify individual packets of the transport stream that constitute the program, and associates the application with packet identifiers used to identify individual packets of the transport stream for performing the application. Then, store the service map information. The service map information can be used to identify the individual packets of the transport stream of the service when the service is chosen again.
