摘要： An optical signal transmission method according to an embodiment of the disclosure is an optical signal transmission method in which a processor performs at least part of each operation, and may include an operation of receiving a data stream, an operation of separating at least part of the data stream into three channels, modulating the separated data streams respectively according to M-ary frequency shift keying (M-FSK) scheme so as to produce an FSK modulated signal, an operation of combining a plurality of FSK modulated signals modulated respectively in the three channels, and producing a color modulated signal according to a bit-color mapping table set in advance, and an operation of transmitting the color modulated signal by controlling a light source of the same optical channel based on the color modulated signal.

摘要： A cryogenic optoelectronic data link, comprising a sending module operating at a cryogenic temperature less than 100 K. An ultrasensitive electro-optic modulator, sensitive to input voltages of less than 10 mV, may include at least one optically active layer of graphene, which may be part of a microscale resonator, which in turn may be integrated with an optical waveguide or an optical fiber. The optoelectronic data link enables optical output of weak electrical signals from superconducting or other cryogenic electronic devices in either digital or analog form. The modulator may be integrated on the same chip as the cryogenic electrical devices. A plurality of cryogenic electrical devices may generate a plurality of electrical signals, each coupled to its own modulator. The plurality of modulators may be resonant at different frequencies, and coupled to a common optical output line to transmit a combined wavelength-division-multiplexed (WDM) optical signal.

摘要： An optical transmitter transmits an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing symbol in which only one-half of available subcarriers are modulated with data and the remaining subcarriers are suppressed by not modulating with data. The transmission is of duration equal to half the symbol period of the OFDM symbol, resulting in a half-cycle transmission. An optical receiver receives the half-cycle transmission OFDM symbol, regenerates the full time domain representation and recovers data modulated on the one-half of available subcarriers. The modulated subcarriers and the suppressed subcarriers alternate in the frequency domain.

摘要： Embodiments may provide a way of communicating via an electromagnetic radiator, or light source, that can be amplitude modulated such as light emitting diode (LED) lighting and receivers or detectors that can determine data from light received from the amplitude modulated electromagnetic radiator. Some embodiments may provide a method of transmitting/encoding data via modulated LED lighting and other embodiments may provide receiving/decoding data from the modulated LED lighting by means of a device with a low sampling frequency such as a relatively inexpensive camera (as might be found in a smart phone). Some embodiments are intended for indoor navigation via photogrammetry (i.e., image processing) using self-identifying LED light anchors. In many embodiments, the data signal may be communicated via the light source at amplitude modulating frequencies such that the resulting flicker is not perceivable to the human eye.

In accordance with some embodiments, the disclosed techniques can be used, for example, in encoding and decoding LCom data in a manner that: (1) prevents or otherwise minimizes perceivable flicker of the light output by a transmitting LCom-enabled luminaire; and/or (2) avoids or otherwise reduces a need for additional, specialized receiver hardware at the receiver computing device including the camera. In some cases, the disclosed techniques can be used, for example, to enhance the baud rate between a transmitting LCom-enabled luminaire and a receiver device.
