摘要： A battery module according to the principles of the present disclosure includes a plurality of battery cells, a pair of sideplates, and a pair of endplates. The sideplates are disposed on opposite sides of the plurality of battery cells and the endplates are disposed at opposite ends of the battery module. The sideplates include a first mating portion and the endplates include a second mating portion that engages the first mating portion to provide an interference fit. The interference fit joins the sideplates and the endplates together and bands the plurality of cells together between the sideplates and the endplates.

A thermal assembly for a battery cell includes a battery cell having a battery cell packaging and a thermal pouch formed from a continuous carbon-based thermal film. The thermal pouch is configured to contact both the battery cell packaging and one or more thermal management features of a battery module with a first side of the carbon-based thermal film. Accordingly, the first side of the carbon-based thermal film is configured to provide uninterrupted thermal pathways along the first side of the carbon-based thermal film between the battery cell packaging and the one or more thermal management features of the battery module.

The thin profile sensor has a flexible plastic sheet, and a microprocessor, a sensing circuit, and a heat generating circuit coupled to the flexible plastic sheet. The flexible plastic sheet is coupled to the battery cell. The microprocessor determines a first voltage value representing an open circuit voltage, and a second voltage value of the battery cell when the battery cell is supplying electrical current through the heat generating circuit. The microprocessor determines a current value when the battery cell is supplying the electrical current through the heat generating circuit, and determines an internal resistance value based on the first voltage value, the second voltage value, and the current value.
