    • An apparatus which stabilizes an operation of a disc driver in a mode conversion setting section includes a pickup which reads information from a disc that is inserted into the disc driver, a filter which performs a low-pass filtering of a servo error signal that is generated during an operation of the pickup, a selector which selects one of the servo error signal and the low-pass filtered servo error signal from the filter and outputs the selected servo error signal to drive the pickup using the selected servo error signal, and a control signal generator which generates a signal to control the selector to select the low-pass filtered servo error signal in a mode conversion setting section of the disc driver. Accordingly, a defocus and a detrack can be prevented in the mode conversion setting section of the disc driver.

    • An information storage apparatus records, reproduces and/or erases information with respect to a recording medium. The apparatus includes a servo error generation detector for detecting a generation of a servo error based on at least one of servo signals including a focus error signal and a tracking error signal which are derived from output signals of a light receiving element, and a data recording resuming section for temporarily interrupting a data recording with respect to the recording medium, temporarily turning OFF a servo and then turning ON the servo again, to thereafter synchronize recording data to recorded data already recorded on the recording medium, and resume recording of the recording data continuing without a discontinuity to an end of the recorded data recorded immediately before the interruption of the data recording, when the generation of the servo error is detected while recording data on the recording medium.

    • A read/write channel module including a sampling module configured to sample a read signal corresponding to data stored on a disk. A first preamble is encoded with a first timing recovery pattern on a first track of the disk. The first timing recovery pattern includes a first pattern that changes every x bits. A second preamble is encoded with a second timing recovery pattern on a second track of the disk adjacent to the first track. The second timing recovery pattern includes a second pattern that changes every y bits. A data processing module is configured to process the read signal to remove inter track interference from the read signal based on a difference between the first timing recovery pattern and the second timing recovery pattern.
