    • An electronic gaming machine that provides passively triggered wagering is disclosed. In an entertainment game, passively actuated enabling elements are provided. Passively actuated enabling elements are enabling elements that are consumed through game play of the entertainment game but not directly through player action by a player. An entertainment system engine of the gambling hybrid game provides the entertainment game and determines when a passively actuated enabling element is consumed in the game. A game world controller of the gambling hybrid game determines when a gambling event in a gambling game is to be provided based upon the consumption of the passively actuated enabling element. The game world controller then requests that a real world engine of the gambling hybrid game resolve the gambling event in the gambling game. The real world engine then resolves the gambling event and associated wagers on the outcome of the gambling event.

    • Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a gaming system and method providing a selection game associated with a plurality of different sets of pickable selections. For a play of the game, the gaming system displays a first set of selections and a second set of selections, and initiates a selection round. If a designated selection of the first set remains unpicked, the gaming system enables the player to pick a selection of the first set. If a designated selection of the second set remains unpicked, the gaming system enables the player to pick a selection of the second set. If the designated ones of the first and second sets of selections have both been picked, the gaming system determines an award based on a total quantity of initiated selection rounds. If not, the gaming system ends the selection round, initiates a subsequent selection round, and repeats the above process.

    • Systems and methods for a gaming system. A gaming system includes a game world engine connected to a real world engine and an entertainment software engine. The real world engine receives a trigger of execution of a gambling game, and determines a gambling outcome of the gambling game using a wager of real world credits. The entertainment software provides a skill based entertainment game to a player, and conveys, to the game world engine, a player action taken by the player during play of the of the entertainment game, the player action including use by the player of an enabling element. The game world engine receives the player action, correlates the wager of real world credit of the gambling game with the use of the enabling element by triggering execution of the gambling game, and accumulates game world credit for the player based on the player action.
