    • A system and method processes object oriented image data by initially parsing the object oriented image data into non-neutral image data and neutral image data. A second parser circuit parses the neutral image data into black image data, grey image data, and white image data. A neutral processing circuit processes the black image data, grey image data, and the white image data. The system also classifies object oriented image data to be rendered by an object oriented rendering system. To perform the classification, the object oriented image data to be rendered is received and classified and assigned as one of a plurality of possible first level object types. The process further classifies and assigns, to the object oriented image data to be rendered, one of a plurality of possible second level object types related to the first level object type assigned to the object to be rendered.

    • The system of the present invention allows a user to generate a representation of time-based media. The system of the present invention includes a feature extraction module for extracting features from media content. For example, the feature extraction module can detect solos in a musical performance, or can detect music, applause, speech, and the like. A formatting module formats a media representation generated by the system. The formatting module also applies feature extraction information to the representation, and formats the representation according to a representation specification. In addition, the system can include an augmented output device that generates a media representation based on the feature extraction information and the representation specification. The methods of the present invention include extracting features from media content, and formatting a media representation being generated using the extracted features and based on a specification or data structure specifying the representation format. The methods can also include generating a media representation based on the results of the formatting.

    • A method and system creates a printed substrate suitable for conversion into a three-dimensional object. A template generator identifies a printing template having die line data representing a cutting path and folding position data representing a folding path. Foreground image data representative of a first image is automatically applied the selected printing template to define a target location for the first image, and also to define a second die line around a portion of the target location to form a second cutting path based on the foreground image data. A printer prints the first image onto a substrate at the target location, a cutting device cuts the substrate along the first cutting path and the second cutting path, and a scoring device scores the substrate along the folding path to generate a printed substrate that will fold into a three-dimensional object.
