    • Stubbing systems and methods are provided for intelligent data management in a replication environment, such as by reducing the space occupied by replication data on a destination system. In certain examples, stub files or like objects replace migrated, de-duplicated or otherwise copied data that has been moved from the destination system to secondary storage. Access is further provided to the replication data in a manner that is transparent to the user and/or without substantially impacting the base replication process. In order to distinguish stub files representing migrated replication data from replicated stub files, priority tags or like identifiers can be used. Thus, when accessing a stub file on the destination system, such as to modify replication data or perform a restore process, the tagged stub files can be used to recall archived data prior to performing the requested operation so that an accurate copy of the source data is generated.

    • The invention is directed to a computer-implemented process for processing information related to entities and said entities being contained in a stream of information, the entities being stored in resource directories of a system, each resource directory containing entities and being annotated with a version number modified with the addition of at least one new entity. The process comprises the steps of: retrieving a stream of information from different information sources; processing segments of information from the stream of information in accordance with entities of said resource directories; storing the segments of information with an annotation indicating which version of said resource directories was used for processing said information segment; updating at least one of the said resource directories with at least one new entity and updating the version number of said at least one resource directory; and—reprocessing the stored segments of information containing the annotation indicating said segments of information were processed with a previous version of the at least one resource directory.

    • According to an embodiment, a verification device includes an encoding rule generating unit, a test data generating unit, an error rule generating unit, a determined value generating unit, and a verifying unit. The encoding rule generating unit is configured to generate an encoding rule based on a definition document for a structured document. The test data generating unit is configured to generate test data in which all combinations of state transitions are expressed in bits in accordance with an encoding rule. The error rule generating unit is configured to add an error rule to the encoding rule. The determined value generating unit is configured to generate a determined value indicating whether a transition is normal. The verifying unit is configured to determine that a decoding device is not normal when the determined value and an output determined value resulting from inputting the test data to the decoding device are different.

The search engine may then immediately be capable of processing structured queries which refer to the new type of annotation.
