摘要： Method for identifying geologic features from geophysical or attribute data using windowed principal component (or independent component) analysis. Subtle features are made identifiable in partial or residual data volumes. The residual data volumes (24) are created by (36) eliminating data not captured by the most prominent principal components (14). The partial data volumes are created by (35) projecting the data on to selected principal components. The method is suitable for identifying physical features indicative of hydrocarbon potential.

摘要： A method of exploiting hydrocarbons within a sedimentary basin is disclosed using a stratigraphic simulation coupled with a hydrologic model and a terrestrial organic matter accumulation model. The inorganic sediment distribution within the basin is determined by use of a stratigraphic simulator for at least one time step. Then, at least one unsaturated zone is delimited within the basin using a hydrologic model. At least one zone of terrestrial organic matter accumulation within the basin and an amount of terrestrial organic matter accumulated in this accumulation zone are determined by use of a model of the terrestrial organic matter accumulation as a function of the unsaturated zone thickness, of the unsaturated zone thickness stability and of the surface water flux defined for the time step considered. Application is petroleum reservoir exploration and exploitation.

摘要： Methods and systems are presented in this disclosure for performing fast economic analysis of production by fracture-stimulated wells. A class of models can be defined by combining a simulated fracture geometry comprising a stimulated reservoir volume with accounting for fluid dynamics and phase transitions in the stimulated reservoir volume for modeling production in a plurality of reservoirs. An objective function related to the production in the plurality of reservoirs can be generated based on at least one model from the class of models. Parameters related to fracture stages of a fracture network can be then determined, based on the objective function, and communicated, via a computer network to a computing device, to be used for at least one of building or operating the fracture network in the reservoir.

摘要： A system and method may model physical geological structures. Seismic and geologic data may be accepted. A three-dimensional (3D) transformation may be generated between a 3D present day model having points representing present locations of the physical geological structures and a 3D past depositional model having points representing locations where the physical geological structures were originally deposited. An indication may be accepted to locally change the 3D transformation for a subset of sampling points in a first model of the models. The 3D transformation may be locally changed to fit the updated subset of sampling points. A locally altered or updated version of the first model and, e.g., second model, may be displayed where local changes to the first model are defined by the locally changed 3D transformation. The transformation may also be used to extract geobodies in the past depositional model.

In aspects, a model platform includes a model engine and a speed tool that operates with the model engine to generate a graphical view of a geological model. Various features of the geological object may be encoded or reflected in the geological model, including the composition, pressure, temperate, structure, fracture lines, and other aspects of a hydrocarbon deposit, cavity, or other geological structure. The user may operate the speed tool to examine the histogram of color or intensity of the pixels or voxels of regions of the model view, and set a speed curve to control how quickly or slowly a cursor or other control may move through or traverse a region, based on the color, intensity, or other value. Regions of interest may be explored more efficiently and accurately.

摘要： A system and method may, based on a 3D seismic data set seed point, execute a seed picking algorithm, using the first point for picking a set of second points from the data set, setting each of the points in the set of second points as the first point and repeating the algorithm. An iteration number or other attribute may be assigned to the points, the iteration number corresponding to the number of times the algorithm repeated to process the point. The attribute or a number of attributes may be displayed as a visual characteristic for each point. An iterative process may be applied to a set of seismic data points, starting at a seed data point and finding a set of next iteration seed points from among the set of points neighboring the seed point, continuing only with next iteration seed points, and recording for each of a set of data points the number of points that are found by the process when the point is used as a seed data point. Attributes may include, for example, the total number of descendants of a seed point, the direction, for example, the azimuth, of propagation of the horizon picking process, or information that relates to the order in which points are picked such as an iteration number.
