Each shim may have a recess proximate its top end to receive the cover or a higher shim and engagement means such as a lip or threading to receive the base portion or a lower shim. Shims may be of various heights. Additionally, one or more shims may allow for an angled offset between the recess and lip, in the event that the base portion of the drain or ducting is not parallel to the ultimate substrate height. Preferably, the base of the recess and lip are generally parallel to their respective end surfaces and the recess and lip are generally cylindrical such that adjacent shims may be rotationally adjusted relative to one another to achieve a desired offset angle.

A rotational orientation of the angled top surface of the shim relative to the shank and a rotational orientation of the angled bottom surface of the frame relative to the shank may be independently adjustable, thereby allowing for the top surface of the frame to be both angularly and rotationally adjusted relative to a central axis of the drain assembly independent of the positional height of the shank. The drain assembly may further comprise a cover having bendable tabs. The bendable tabs may be disposed around a periphery of the cover and may be configured to contact an angled inner surface of an upper bowl of the shroud, such that the bendable tabs bend around the frame, thereby locking the cover onto the frame.

The drain includes a receptacle including a plurality of downwardly opening bosses and the collar includes a plurality of bosses and at least one support member is adapted to be received within the bosses to stabilize the receptacle body relative to the stabilizing collar and the floor. Engagement members cooperate with adjustment members to adjust the diameter of the collar with respect to the pipe. The receptacle body is attached to the pipe and the support members are adjusted so that they contact the receptacle body and therefore provide support to keep the receptacle body at the same slope as the floor level.

摘要： An apparatus and method for aligning the exposed drain in finished surfaces in construction with the underlying drains and conduits of the construction infrastructure. The device features an inner generally planar center section, preferably round, with an off center drain aperture communicating between a top surface and a bottom surface. The center section is rotatably in a similarly shaped aperture formed in the surface material surrounding the underlying drain which can also be formed in a surrounding tile to be placed over the drain or in the finished material itself. Once the off center drain aperture is aligned with the underlying drain with the perimeter of the center section aligned with the aperture in the surrounding material, the center section is placed into the similarly shaped aperture and fixed in position with adhesive or grout and the drain strainer may be mounted into the off center drain aperture. The device may be pre manufactured in separate components, kits of separate components, or may be formed using a method of making the components from the tile or finished surface being laid.
