摘要： A sealing gasket for sealing gaps adjacent to a pickup truck is provided. In alternate embodiments a combination pickup truck and sealing gasket is also provided. The sealing gasket of the present invention comprises an elongated member made of a deformable and a somewhat resilient polymeric material. The polymeric material is preferably a closed cell sponge material made of one of a number of polymeric materials which are the somewhat flexible, resilient, water resistant and the like. The cross-section of the elongated member, if divided into two parts, includes a generally triangular portion and a generally semi-circular portion which come together to form a teardrop-like shape. The elongated member preferably has a first lumen which is generally circular in shape when the sealing gasket is undeformed, and preferably a second lumen which has two converging tear surfaces which converge to join at one end and join to an arcuate inner surface at the other end. This sealing gasket is uniquely designed to be both resilient and deformable in a manner which enables the sealing gasket to be used in a variety of different orientations and positions to seal gaps between a pickup truck tailgate and other portions of the pickup truck through which dust and moisture may pass if the gaps are not filled.

摘要： A window glass remover for removing broken window glass from a frame comprises a mat formed of a sheet of flexible backing material shaped to substantially cover the window, a layer of adhesive on one side of the backing material, and a manually graspable handle on an opposite side of the backing material. The adhesive layer adheres to the glass so that when the window is broken, the resulting glass fragments are retained on the sheet by the adhesive. The sheet can include a marked hole or an incorporated bead for facilitating glass breakage. The handle can be formed of a foldable flexible sheet material so the mat and handle can be rolled up and stored in a tube for compact storage. Strips of mat material without a handle can be applied to a window frame after glass removal to protect against glass fragments retained in the frame.

When such a strip is bent to follow curves in the door frame, the increased tension in the mounting portion (8) at the curves may cause the sealing portion (10) to move inwardly of the curve into the position shown in the dotted line In order to avoid this, the sealing strip, and particularly the mounting portion (8), is longitudinally compressed at positions corresponding to the positions where curves are to be formed in the strip. This local longitudinal compression helps to maintain the sealing portion (10) in its correct attitude.

摘要： A method of preparing a vehicle panel assembly for attaching the panel to a vehicle is disclosed which provides a nullready-to-installnull panel assembly. The panel assembly includes first and second spaced sides, with the bead of heat activated adhesive provided on the second side of the panel. The panel and bead are heated preferably by applying shortwave and longwave infrared radiation, with the shortwave infrared radiation being applied to an adhesive free side of the panel to heat the panel and, thereby, indirectly heat the bead of the heat activated adhesive. The longwave infrared radiation is applied to the adhesive side of the panel to directly heat the bead and thereby activate the adhesive. The ready-to-install adhesive may be applied on or adjacent to a gasket, such as a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) molding, a urethane molding, or the like. Optionally, either during or after heating, the substrate is cooled in order to ease handling of the panel assembly after the bead of adhesive is activate and ready for installation.
