摘要： An optical disk of the present invention includes a first substrate having a signal area on a principal plane and a central hole, and a second substrate that is transparent and attached to the first substrate. The second substrate is thinner than the first substrate, and has a central hole whose diameter is larger than that of the first substrate. The first substrate and the second substrate are attached to each other with radiation curable resin (adhesive member) disposed therebetween so as to extend at least from an inner peripheral edge of the second substrate to an outer peripheral edge thereof.

摘要： In an optical disc fabricating apparatus, when the disc substrate is lowered from the tip of a disc inserting portion at a center pin down to a disc supporting portion, a disc urging portion of an alignment lever is pressed by a disc substrate, to be thus pushed in toward an inner periphery and a sheet urging portion is pushed out toward an outer periphery, so as to press the inner peripheral surface of a cover sheet so that both of the cover sheet and the disc substrate are urged in an alignment direction. Thus, it is possible to eliminate play generated between the inner peripheral surface of the cover sheet and the outer peripheral surface of a sheet inserting portion and play generated between the inner peripheral surface of the disc substrate and the outer peripheral surface of the disc inserting portion.

摘要： The invention relates to a device for assembling at least two noncircular substrates (1, 2) that have the same circumferential shape and that are provided with center holes (5, 6), especially for producing an optical data carrier. The aim of the invention is to provide a method and device with which the substrates can be assembled congruently and glued together flawlessly. For this purpose, the inventive device comprises a receiving unit (3) adapted to the center holes of the substrate, which receives the substrates (1, 2) so that they are spaced apart and rotatable about a common axis (8); an alignment device (10) for aligning the substrates (1, 2) with at least one stop (11); and a displacement unit for engaging the substrates with the stop. The invention also relates to a method for assembling substrates of the aforementioned kind.

In an optical disc, an information signal area on which an information signal can be recorded and/or reproduced is formed on a major surface of a disc substrate thereof; a light transmitting layer which can transmit a laser beam used in a process for recording and/or reproducing the information signal is formed on a side on which the information signal area is present; and a clamp reference plane is arranged on a major surface of the light transmitting layer in a clamp region. If the optical disc is clamped by a chucking unit of a drive, it is clamped by making the clamp reference plane on the major surface of the light transmitting layer contact with a mounting surface of a table for mounting the disc, and making a magnetic metal plate contact with the major surface of the disc substrate, and then sandwiching the optical disc between.

摘要： An apparatus for bonding disc substrates is provided with a spinner which spreads adhesive placed between a first substrate and second substrate, and a curing device which radiates ultraviolet light onto the adhesive through the substrate to cure it. The curing device includes; a support mechanism which supports the first substrate and second substrate after the adhesive is spread by the spinner, a semiconductor light emitting apparatus having a plurality of light emitting semiconductor elements arranged facing a region where the adhesive is cured, and a positioning mechanism which positions the semiconductor light emitting apparatus such that the light emitting semiconductor elements are a predetermined distance away from the adhesive. The adhesive is cured or semi-cured by ultraviolet light emitted from the plurality of light emitting semiconductor elements.

摘要： The object of the present invention is to significantly inhibit the formation of voids between substrates bonded together when a liquid adhesive is supplied onto an optical disc substrate or when the optical disc substrate is bonded to another optical disc substrate. Accordingly, the present invention discloses a method for bonding two optical disc substrates together which comprises the steps of joining the optical disc substrates together with an adhesive and curing the adhesive, wherein the adhesive is supplied onto the optical disc substrate by an electric field formed between the adhesive-supplying nozzle, for supplying the adhesive onto the optical disc substrate, and the optical disc substrate, and the two optical disc substrates are then joined together and subjected to spun by a spinning process.

Substrates are disposed in a spaced-apart manner between two plates that are disposed opposite from, and are movable relative to, one another. At least one of the plates is connected to a flexible membrane. At least the plate to which the flexible membrane is connected is moved in such a way that a pressure difference is produced on opposite sides of the membrane.
