    • Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a stirrer tool that includes a head component having a first plurality of projections extending substantially radially out from and substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of a body portion. Head component may also have a second plurality of projections extending in a substantially distal direction away from a distal end of the body portion, and all of the projections may be made of a substantially stiff material that is flexible enough to be bent to fit through an opening in a container that is smaller in diameter than a diameter of the head component and stiff enough to mix viscous products. The projections may further be capable of being shortened by cutting off a selected length of the projections. The first plurality of projections may be configured to create a vortex mixing action and the second plurality of projections may be configured to reach and stir up sediment on bottoms and in corners of containers. The system may further include an elongate shaft, which may be coaxially aligned with, and a distal end of the elongate shaft may be attached to the head component and the proximal end of the elongate shaft may be configured to be removable held in a device to rotate the elongate shaft.

    • A dispersing machine having a machine upright has a cantilevered machine head disposed thereon such that it can be raised and lowered by means of a lifting apparatus which can be acted upon by a pressure-medium pumping assembly. A rotatably drivable stirring apparatus is disposed on one cantilevered end of the machine head and is lowered into a container disposed beside the machine upright and connected with it in a releasable manner by means of a container holding device. The container holding device has at least two clamping members substantially receiving the container between them. In order to make it easier to initiate and release the clamping action exerted on the container, the container holding device is actuated by means of a pressure-medium motor, which is connected with the pressure-medium pumping assembly.

    • The present invention relates to an apparatus for agitating, conveying and weighing particulate material. An agitator is provided including a generally cylindrical housing having end walls with bearings in them. An agitator is provided in the housing, including a pair of end members having openings therein; stub shafts are supported by shaft hangers and extend through the end wall bearings and the end members, for ready removal, axially, permitting removal of the agitator in a radial direction through an opening in the housing. A screw conveyor beneath the agitator has a housing removably connected to the agitator housing. A single direct current drive motor is provided, connected by sprockets and chains to the agitator shaft and to the shaft of the screw conveyor. The screw conveyor has a delivery conduit of short extent, connected to a transverse gate valve, below which is a weighing hopper, comprising a receiver and a scale, and the screw conveyor is provided with comminuting elements to insure uniform specific gravity of material passing from it to the receiver of the weighing hopper, to provide accuracy of the weighed amount of material.

    • A new mixing vessel is disclosed, which vessel enables a sizable saving of the energy required for the mixing compared with the conventional mixing vessel. The vessel comprises a propeller disposed adjacent to the side wall of a cylindrical tank disposed horizontally, which propeller generates a thrust tangential to the cylindrical vessel wall that creates the mixing motion of the slurry rotating about the axis of the cylindrical vessel. In said arrangement of the cylindrical vessel and the propeller, the propeller shaft is perpendicular to the vessel axis. Therefore, two or more propellers mixing slurries in two or more vessels can be driven by a single shaft disposed through the horizontal cylindrical vessels disposed in a parallel alignment. The bearing supporting the head-end of the driving shaft can be enclosed within a flange sealed with a blind flange, which flange is disposed onto the first mixing vessel in line with the spools housing the shaft. A choke with an annular opening provided by the gap between the shaft surface and the inner surface of the spool disposed on the exit end of the last mixing vessel can be used to restrict the mass flow out from the train of the mixing vessels. The surfaces forming the choke should be lined with an abrasion-resisting material. The bearing supporting the tail-end of the shaft, which is the driven-end, is disposed outside the mixing vessel and away from the slurry discharged through the annular opening of the choke. This arrangement enables to completely eliminate the seals in mechanically agitating the slurries in pressurized vessels.
