When a wildfire is detected, a fire suppression system is activated to pump a fire retardant product, such as water or foam, through a fire retardant distribution system to supply the fire retardant to a series of water dispersion devices that are positioned to protect a structure and a set of landscape elements such as trees, flowers, bushes, and shrubs. Various embodiments can include automatic notification to local fire and police authorities of the presence of the wildfire, and can also include local electrical power generating units that can provide the electrical power needed to operate and control the wildfire suppression system.

A preferred controller includes three PIC chips including a control PIC for controlling operation of the water pump, a power monitor PIC for receiving all voltage and current inputs to the controller, and a data recorder PIC for collection and storage of data relevant to the system. The controller may also include an electronically coupled HMI which queries the controller for information to display, wherein the HMI does not pass information between components of the controller and is capable of being damaged without stopping or preventing operation of the controller, and an isolation scheme for isolating the controller from incoming energy transients, such as lightning, the isolation scheme comprising a relay and opto-isolators to drive the relay and increase the isolation by a factor of at least two over the relay alone.

The actuator is configured to extend the tip of the nozzle such that it pierces a container. The support structure and the deployment structure are configured such that the penetrator assembly is movable in at least one plane with respect to the support structure, and the penetrator assembly is configured to receive fire suppressant and direct the fire suppressant into the container.

Electronic messages from fire detection devices in residential attics and basements are processed so that a plurality of actions are performed in order to efficiently suppress fire in those residence spaces, thereby minimizing loss of human life and property. Actions include and are not limited to activation of emergency lighting in affected spaces, activation of surveillance camera devices to enable remote visual monitoring by responders, electronic notification of responders as to the existence and location of fire within the residence, alarm notification of occupants of the residence, and deployment of condensed aerosol agents to suppress or extinguish the residential attic or basement fire.
