In a further aspect, the first connector is a rotatable clamp and the second connectors are hooks to which the rotatable clamp is connectable.

摘要： A bed frame comprising T shaped side rails provide support for a box spring and mattress. A leg assembly is affixed to the bed frame and is affixed to the side rail and to the cross rails for better strength of connection. The use of T-shaped side rails provides more resistance to twisting and bowing and thereby more resistant to damage a leg or other structural component of the bed frame from moving the bed frame across the floor. The use of the T-shape cross section side rails enables the overall bed frame to support more weight with less deflection than the convention L-shaped side rails. There are also headboard and footboard brackets that take advantage of the greater height of the vertical flange of the side rail to have affixation means, such as rivets, that are further spaced apart to provide a more rigid connection between the brackets and the side rails.

An egg carton-like base (100) is formed from a first set of long sections (12a, 12b, 12c) having slots on the top edge (16a, 16b, 16c) thereof that engage with slots (38a, 38b, 38c, 38d) in the bottom edge (30a, 30b, 30c, 30d) of a second set of shorter sections (14a, 14b, 14c, 14d). The long and short sections (12a, 12b, 12c, 14a, 14b, 14c, 14d) are preferably molded from structural foam and the top edge (16a, 16b, 16c) of the long sections (12a, 12b, 12c) include a plurality of threaded male projections (42a, 42b, 42c) molded into them. Fasteners (64) are used to attach upper deck sections (54a, 54b, 54c) to the threaded projections (42a, 42b, 42c) on the base (100). Each fastener (64) includes a top flange (66), a hollow cylindrical body (68) having an hand engageable fin (70) therein and a lower end having a female threaded section (72, 74) that engages the exterior treads of the threaded projections (42a, 42b, 42c) on the base (100). An individual places one of several fasteners (64) in one of the apertures (56a, 56b, 56c) in one of several deck sections (54a, 54b, 54c), grabs the interior fin (70), engages the threaded projection (42a, 42b, 42c) with the female interior threads (74), and manually rotates the fastener (64) until the flange (66) pulls the deck section (54a, 54b, 54c) firmly down onto the base (100).

At each corner of the assembly are two posts which are interconnected by dowels or by a tongue and groove. The tongues and grooves are also bevelled for the same reason. The wooden components are subject to compressive forces and to a heat treatment before being assembled into the foundation.

摘要： A bed base has parts adapted to be assembled together manually without the use of a tool or separate, non-integrated connectors. These parts include side members, corner connectors, and a cross-rail assembly. The side members are assembled into a rectangular support and attached at its corners by a male-female connection mechanisms in lower portions of the side members. The corner connectors overlap and lock together the upper portions of adjacent side members at the corners and are attached by male-female connection mechanisms. Each opposed side member includes a notch along an upper portion and the notches in the opposed side members are aligned upon assembly. The cross-rail assembly, which sits across the opposed side members within the notches, has an orthogonal leg member near each end. Each individual leg member projects through a corresponding notch and terminates in one component of two-component connector. The other component of each two-component connector is in the side member with the other component's corresponding notch.
