摘要： A voice recognition system has a vehicle unit, which is a communication terminal, and a voice recognition server. The voice recognition server recognizes a voice signal received from the vehicle unit. A sound characteristic of a communication channel for providing communication between the vehicle unit and the server requires to be adjusted so that the server properly recognizes the voice signal. A test pattern signal is used for adjusting the sound characteristic. The vehicle unit adjusts the sound characteristic based on the test pattern signal. Therefore, the server does not require a large database for the sound characteristic adjustment because it is performed by the vehicle unit.

摘要： The invention is directed to a lighting system having a reflector, light sources and a light control member sequentially disposed from a light incident side to a light outgoing side. Preferably used for large displays requiring high uniformity, this invention eliminates lamp image and removes the necessity to do light source repositioning, while enabling luminance in the exit plane to achieve excellent luminosity and uniformity. This invention achieves total light transmittance of more than 50% when light is incident at a predetermined angle a from the normal direction of the incident plane and achieves 1.05–3 times more total light transmittance than when the light is from a direction normal to the incident plane. This is achieved by the light control member by controlling the ratio between total light transmittance in the positions of greater transmittance and the total transmittance in the positions of lesser transmittance.

The car navigation system generates difference data indicating a location where a difference is present between a vehicle position path and a road location obtained from a map database. The car navigation device then sends the difference data along with additional data relating to accuracy of the difference data. The map evaluation device determines accuracy for the difference data based on the additional data. When the accuracy degree of the difference data is determined to be proper, the map evaluation device increments by one a determining count of a group including the difference data. When the determining count exceeds a given count, a portion to be amended on the map database is displayed on a monitor based on the difference data stored in a difference database.

A portion on which the grooves and the projections are formed (polishing portion) has a substantially circular shape in a plane view. 摘要： A light quantity control device suitable for use in a laser beam printer includes a beam generator, a monitor for monitoring the quantity of light of a beam generated by the beam generator, and a controller. The controller controls the light quantity of the beam generated by the beam generator in response to the output of the monitor. The controller includes a digital value output circuit and a light quantity control circuit. The digital value output circuit outputs a digital value representing the quantity of light of the beam, and the light quantity control circuit controls the quantity of light in response to the digital value. The digital value output circuit varies the timing of output of the digital value in accordance with the output of the monitor.
