摘要： A water base ink for ink-jet recording contains self-dispersible carbon black as a coloring agent. The total content of an organic acid having a number of carbon or carbons of 1 to 6 and a salt of the organic acid is not more than 400 ppm. The organic acid having a number of carbon or carbons of 1 to 6 includes monocarboxylic acid, dicarboxylic acid and oxy acid, and the salt of the organic acid includes salts of these acids. When the water base ink is used in an ink-jet recording apparatus, the discharge stability of the ink is improved.

摘要： A water-based ink for ink-jet recording may include a benzotriazole type compound for preventing corrosion of a metal in an ink ejection portion of an ink-jet head, and a coloring agent having a divalent metal in a structure thereof, and a polymer containing a polymerization unit having at least two carboxyl groups in an ethylene chain unit. The generation of a precipitate by reaction between the divalent metal and the benzotriazole type compound may be suppressed without using a sequestering agent. The ink may have an excellent corrosion inhibiting effect and an ink ejection stability effect.

摘要： An image processing apparatus is provided that can make judgment of a specific pattern accurate and easy and can judge a copying-prohibited original document regardless of the color of the original document and inputted image information of the copying-prohibited original document added with the specific pattern and even when the size of the specific pattern differs. A black detecting color filter executes a binarizing process to inputted image data in terms of black, and a yellow detecting color filter executes a binarizing process to inputted image data in terms of yellow. The black and yellow primitive pattern detecting portions respectively detect black primitive patterns and yellow primitive patterns from the black and yellow binarized image data. The copying-prohibiting added pattern detecting portion detects a specific pattern based on an arrangement of the primitive patterns detected by the black and yellow primitive pattern detecting portions.

摘要： In an image forming apparatus provided with a cooling fan for cooling an original table glass, a controller measures a cooling time from the end of a previous copying operation to the start of a current copying operation. An operating condition determining section estimates a residual amount of heat energy based on the measured time and the generated amount of heat energy at the pervious copying operation. An amount of heat energy to be generated at the current image forming is added to the thus estimated residual amount of heat energy. Based on the sum of the heat energy, actual temperature-rise characteristics are calculated. The fan is driven at a rotating rate for an operating time in accordance with the thus calculated temperature-rise characteristics.

摘要： This invention relates to an electrophotographic copying machine of a type having a table which moves along a given direction and a source unit of a unitized structure which includes a lamp and a mirror for initially reflecting the reflected light from a document to be copied such that the position of the source unit can be adjusted at the time of its assembly. The copying machine according to the present invention includes a detector for detecting the starting position of the slidably movable table and this detector is attached to a plate of which the position is adjustable along the direction of motion of the table independently of the source unit whereby the problems associated with fluctuations in the start-up distance traveled by the table before acquiring a steady speed can be eliminated.

摘要： An ink for ink-jet recording is provided, which makes it possible to obtain vivid recorded matters by satisfying both of the prevention of the feathering and the prevention of the bleeding even when the recording is performed on regular paper. The ink for ink-jet recording contains a self-dispersing type microparticulate coloring agent, a surfactant, and water. When the surface tension is plotted in the vertical axis, and the concentration of the surfactant is plotted in the horizontal axis, then the correlation between the surface tension and the concentration of the surfactant can be represented by a correlation curve which has one inflection point and which has two local maximum points of curvature on both sides of the inflection point one by one. Further, the ink for ink-jet recording contains the surfactant at a concentration which is higher than a concentration corresponding to the local maximum point of the curvature on the low concentration side.
