摘要： A heating apparatus of an electromagnetic induction heating type includes a coil and a roller which generates heat by the action of magnetic flux generated from the coil. A recording material is heated by the roller. The heating apparatus further includes a movable magnetic flux decreasing member for decreasing magnetic flux, generated from the coil, acting on the roller. In the heating apparatus, a shutter is moved toward an effective position at which a temperature in a non-conveyance area is lowered when a recording material having a size lower than a maximum conveyable size is conveyed, and is moved away from the effective position depending on the temperature in the non-conveyance area, irrespective of the size of the recording material to be conveyed.

摘要： An image signal recording and reproducing system is arranged to record an image signal on a recording medium and to reproduce a recorded image signal from the recording medium. The system adds a pilot signal having a single frequency to at least one of the horizontal and vertical blanking portions of an image signal, and records the thus-added image signal on the recording medium. Accordingly, it is possible to eliminate time base variations which may occur during recording or reproduction without influencing the image signal.

摘要： Disclosed is an image signal reproducing apparatus for reproducing an image signal from a recording medium on which is recorded the image signal with a frequency-multiplexed pilot signal When the image signal reproduced from the recording medium is stored, the operation of storing the reproduced image signal is conducted by using a clock signal which defines a timing in which the reproduced image signal is stored. The clock signal is a signal whose phase is synchronized with that of the pilot signal reproduced from the recording medium and then corrected. In consequence, the reproduced image signal can be stored with a high degree of accuracy without being affected by the phase difference between the reproduced image signal and the reproduced pilot signal.

摘要： In the disclosed recording and/or reproducing apparatus, a switch detects whether the recording medium is mounted on the apparatus and a signal detecting head detects whether a signal is recorded on each of the recording tracks of the medium. In response to the switch detecting that the medium is mounted on the apparatus, a control circuit causes the signal detecting head sequentially to scan the recording tracks on the recording medium one after another. A memory stores the output of the signal detecting head during the sequential scanning operation so that a vacant track search operation can be accomplished within a short period of time.
