    • A fuel evaporative emission treatment system includes a canister which has an evaporative fuel introduction part arranged for communication with a fuel tank, an evaporative fuel emission part arranged for communication with an intake system of an engine, and a vent part arranged for communication with the atmosphere, and which absorbs the evaporative fuel. The fuel evaporative emission treatment system includes a vent pipe having a first passage communicating to the vent part of the canister and to the atmosphere, a first solenoid valve for opening and closing the first passage, an air filter for cleaning atmospheric air flowing thereinto, the filter being provided on the first passage on the side remote from the canister with respect to the first solenoid valve, and a one-way valve or lead valve which defines a second passage communicating to the vent part of the canister. The valve is opened at fueling. The evaporative fuel generated in the fuel tank upon fueling contains a fuel component which is eliminated by the canister and emitted into the atmosphere through the second passage. As a result, the fueling performance will not deteriorate even if the air filter is provided.

    • A picture image recording apparatus includes an image-forming device for forming a light-shielding image on a light-transmissive sheet, an exposure device for exposing a photosensitive recording medium to light through the light-transmissive sheet to form a latent image corresponding to the light-shielding image on the photosensitive recording medium, and either a control device for controlling the image-forming means to form a light-shielding image on a next light-transmissive sheet area to be exposed, during exposure operation by the exposure means, or a standby device for holding the light-transmissive sheet with the image formed thereon in a standby condition. While the photosensitive recording medium is being exposed to light through the light-transmissive sheet, a next light-shielding image to be exposed can successively be formed on the light-transmissive sheet. Therefore, the time required to record picture images can be shortened.

    • For use in combination with an optical source for generating a coherent beam along a main optical axis, an optical head device comprises a diffraction grating having a plurality of grating regions which are responsive to the coherent beam for directing a zeroth-order diffracted beam to a focussing lens and are responsive to an optical beaem reflected from an optical recording medium for directing sidewards diffracted beams to an optical detector assembly. An effective area of a diameter of about 5 mm is sufficient for the diffraction grating. Each sidewards diffracted beam may form an angle of 20.degree. with the main optical axis. The optical detector assembly is used in detecting focussing and tracking errors for the recording medium and can be used in reproducing optical information from the recording medium. A six-partitioned optical detector assembly is preferred when the grating regions are four in number. Either a four-partitioned or a three-partitioned optical detector assembly is preferred when the grating regions are two in number. Depending on the grating regions, the optical detector assembly preferably has two optical detector elements which are placed on different levels relative to the diffraction grating.
