    • The ultrasonic imaging apparatus comprises an ultrasonic probe, a detecting part, a position analyzing part, a display control part, a display part, and a storage part. The detecting part is mounted on the ultrasonic probe operable to detect a part of a prescribed pattern formed on an ultrasonic low attenuation medium. In the storage part, the prescribed pattern formed on the ultrasonic low attenuation medium has been preliminarily stored. Upon receipt of detection results from the detecting part, the position analyzing part specifies the position of a part of the detected pattern on the prescribed pattern by referring to the prescribed pattern stored in the storage part. The display control part controls the display part to display the positional relation between the ultrasonic probe and the subject to be examined regarding the position of a part of the prescribed pattern that has been detected as the position of the ultrasonic probe.

    • An ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus acquires an echo signal by scanning a scanning plane inside an object to be examined with an ultrasonic beam via an ultrasonic probe, generates two-dimensional ultrasonic image data on the basis of this echo signal, and displays this two-dimensional ultrasonic image data as a two-dimensional ultrasonic image. A point of interest is sometimes set on this image, and the scanning plane is sometimes changed by moving the ultrasonic probe. In this invention, whether the point of interest is contained in the changed scanning plane is checked on the basis of the three-dimensional position of the changed scanning plane and the three-dimensional position of the point of interest. If the point of interest is contained in the changed scanning plane, a mark representing the point of interest is displayed by synthesis by matching the position with tomographic image data corresponding to this changed scanning plane. This allows an operator to understand a change in the positional relationship between the scanning planes before and after the change of the scanning planes.

    • According to an ultrasound diagnostic apparatus of the present invention, a cross section of an examining human body having bubbles implanted as ultrasonic shadowing agent is scanned by an ultrasound so as to obtain an echo signal. Image data is repeatedly generated based on the echo signal. Then, image data is displayed as a motion image. Power of the ultrasound to be transmitted is changed from first power to second power, which is stronger than first power. The ultrasound of first power breaks a first amount of bubbles. The ultrasound of second power, which is stronger than first power, breaks a second amount of bubbles, which is larger than the first amount of bubbles. Though the image generated by use of first power is unclear, the amount of breakage of bubbles can be extremely retrained. Since the image is used to examine the state of the bubble flow to the region of interest, unclearness can be allowed. When the bubbles are fully introduced to the region of interest, first power is changed to second power. Second power is stronger than first power. Therefore, the image obtained by second power is clearer than image obtained by first power, and is fit for a high accurate diagnosis of the state of the blood stream.
