    • An in-vehicle hands-free phone system includes: a base station; a portable terminal that is wirelessly connected to the base station; and an in-vehicle device that includes: an information acquisition portion that acquires information about a portable terminal that is connected to the in-vehicle device; a storage portion that stores a number sequence whose intermediate portion includes a predetermined code; and a tone sending-out control portion that sends the number sequence stored in the storage portion to the portable terminal and causes the portable terminal to send out the number sequence in a tone. The tone sending-out control portion determines a tone sending-out behavior about a number sequence part that is subsequent to the predetermined code on the basis of the information acquired by the information acquisition portion.

    • An in-vehicle handsfree apparatus connects a handsfree profile (HFP) with a cellular phone, and then connects a service discovery profile (SDF) with the cellular phone to thereby designate a compliance state of the cellular phone with respect to a phone book access profile (PBAP) as a PBAP compliance flag. Then, when a user performs an operation to require an all item transfer to transfer all items of phone book data registered in the cellular phone, the handsfree apparatus refers to the PBAP compliance flag to thereby select and connect either the PBAP or an object push profile (OPP) with the cellular phone.

    • There is disclosed means for quickly solving instability of sensor sensitivity performances found in an initial stage and stabilizing the sensor sensitivity performances, when immersing a chemical sensor kept under a dry state in a buffer solution used as a storage liquid and applying a measurement bias between a working electrode and a reference electrode to make first use of the chemical sensor for measurement in which the chemical sensor is used. To make the first use of the chemical sensor, after immersing the chemical sensor kept under a dry state in the buffer solution used as the storage liquid, a first initial treatment bias having the same direction as that of the measurement bias and possessing an absolute value larger than that of the measurement bias is applied between the working electrode and the reference electrode for a first initial treatment time. Subsequently, the bias is changed to a second initial treatment bias which is the same as the measurement bias, and the second initial treatment bias is applied for a second initial treatment time. When such a two-step initial treatment operation is carried out, the stabilized sensor sensitivity performance is achieved.

    • In a vehicular navigation system, “AT command +CIEV” is received from a cellular phone by a Bluetooth communications. The received “+CIEV” is determined to identify a phoning state (or call state) of the cellular phone. A sound corresponding to the identified phoning state is outputted via a speaker in a corresponding sound volume level stored in an external memory device. A sound volume level, which was finally set for a certain phoning state, is not continuously used as an initial sound volume level for a subsequent phoning state different from the certain phoning state. An incoming sound, dialing sound, calling sound, and communicating sound are individually outputted in appropriately set sound volume levels, which enhances usability of the navigation system for users.

    • An in-vehicle apparatus having a handsfree function is disclosed, which includes an incoming mail reception determination section, a mode determination section and a control section. The incoming mail reception determination section determines whether a cellular phone receives an incoming mail. The mode determination section determines which one of a handset communication mode and a handsfree communication mode is selected in the cellular phone. The control section performs control regarding whether a mail reception notice should be issued to a user. The control section prohibits the mail reception notice from being issued to the user when the incoming mail reception determination section determines that the cellular phone receives the incoming mail and when the mode determination section determines that the cellular phone is in the handsfree communication mode.
