    • An information device capable of performing wireless communication with a reader/writer device, a method, and a computer-readable medium are provided. The device includes a reception section that detects an information request signal transmitted from a reader/writer device and a transmission section that transmits a signal to the reader/writer device in response to the detection of an information request signal. The device also includes a detection data acquisition section that acquires detection data corresponding to a physical quantity or state from a sensor and a detection data storage section that stores the detection data. The device includes a control section that activates the detection data acquisition section at time intervals and inputs the acquired detection data into the detection data storage section and another control section that activates the reception section at other time intervals.

    • In an information access system, an active-type contactless information storage device senses a carrier of an RF signal at a first frequency in time periods for carrier sensing occurring in a predetermined carrier sensing cycle period, and then in response to detection of a carrier of an RF signal at the first frequency, further receives the information request signal, while it also transmits the tag information signal at a second frequency carrying information in time periods for tag information transmission occurring in a predetermined tag information transmitting cycle period. A reader/writer device cyclically transmits an information request signal carrying values of the predetermined carrier sensing cycle period and the predetermined tag information transmitting cycle period, at a first frequency during a predetermined period of time for information request transmission, and in response to reception of a tag information signal at the second frequency, reproduces and compares received tag information with a list of tag information. In response to reception of the information request signal, the active-type contactless information storage device reproduces and sets the values of the two predetermined cycle periods into its respective timers. Thus the active-type contactless information storage device reduces its power consumption.

    • A method, to facilitate communication by a machine, includes: receiving data transmitted from a reading/writing apparatus; detecting a data request signal; transmitting, to the reading/writing apparatus, a response signal responsive to the data request signal; acquiring, from a sensor, detected data indicative of at least one of a physical quantity and a physical state; storing the acquired detected data into a memory and setting thereafter a flag to a first state; transmitting the acquired detected data if the data request signal is detected and setting thereafter the flag to a second state; invoking an alarm if the flag is in the first state and a power switch is in an OFF state; and controlling the power switch to disconnect power from the power supply to the information apparatus if the flag is in the second state and the power switch is in the OFF state.
